Hey! Gmail has around 7 GB of storage space... so why bother to delete the mails... But still i delete only mails from spam folder... I like to ceate separate folders for different types of mails... and also archive them... I also mark them with a star... So that its easy to find very important mails...

Ok Then Ill explain you how to label mails:- 1)Go to your Gmail Inbox 2)Select the mails you want to be in under one label 3)Then goto More actions - New Label 4)Enter the name of the Label This will create a label. Then to see all mails from one label, Select that label from left had side.. Thats it... Hope uoy understood...^_^

I usually delete things I won't need for sure. But if I'm not really sure, I'll just leave it. If anything about every month or so, I clean out my mail. By filtering through it and erasing stuff I won't need for sure. But now that I use GMail with Mail on my laptop. I usually tend to erase everything. I don't know why. It's just a bad habit. And then I have troubles because when you use GMail with IMAP the e-mails get kind of messy if you erase and then actually need the e-mail... So now I tend to be more cautious about it...

When I clean up my mail every month I notice trends in the inbox. Messages from certain people or certain services. So I use the from: query when searching and mark all those emails with a certain label. Then finding those emails again is very useful. For instance, every time I sign up for a site or something they usually send me my username and password. Since I am not afraid of keeping my username and password in my mail account I just mark that e-mail as Pass or Important. Then if I forget my password it doesn't take very long to just type the website name and look for an email that is marked Pass or Important.

I delete mine as I read them so they are in the delete box and then when I get way too many in there I empty the delete box as they seem to mount up pretty quick in tto hundreds...
