new born screening

to those mothers who just had a baby or those who have a baby, have you had your babies gone through a NEW BORN SCREENING TEST?

The only screening they did on my baby when he was born four months ago was one that tested his hearing. I think they did some bloodwork too, but Idon;t remember what it was for. What kind of screening are you meaning?

Newborn screening testing is a test for newborn babies wherein it detects treatable genetic, endocrinologic, metabolic, congenital defects and other diseases that may occur during their days old. they get the blood samples on the heals of the baby's foot left and right and stick the blood on the filter paper that is to be read by an expertise. i don't know what is it that the other countries use for their new born screening procedure.
