Disappointed in your team? Look around. You will find you are not the only one.

Well into August and unless there are huge comebacks, many will be disappointed in their team's season. I for one am. I am a Blue Jays fan and really thought that with their pitching they would compete in the AL East. A huge lack of power has caused them to fail to meet those expectations. But to console myself, I look around the league and see that there are even bigger disappointments. Three of the biggest ones in the AL are the Mariners, the Tigers and the Indians. All three of these were expected to compete and possibly make the playoffs. None of them will as we can now safely predict. The NL has been more according to preseason predictions therefore there should be less disappointment for those fans. If you can think of any other disappointment or share your comments on this, please do.

The Indians have been horrific and it's like they just destroy their team when it may become something good. I'm not going to be picking them to go anywhere for a while based upon that press conference they had when Shapiro talked about the CC deal and how he came across. I would have to say the Mets are somewhat dissapointing considering that everyone was picking them to go all the way and I don't know about win it all because they picked Johan Santana. I would say that right now. There have been shock teams that have done much better than anticipated or calculated for that matter.

The only thing about the Mets is that, other than Santana, it was still the same team that collapsed last September. Maybe they were overrated. Yes there are some surprises - Tampa, Florida, Minnesota. It is nice to see someof these smaller markets do well.

That's actually a good thing. If you see some other teams actually doing something else that's not of the highest market areas. I'm going to look for some stats on the highest payroll teams actually because that's actually interesting to see how it looks compared to the other franchises. I think of those teams, the Twins and the Rays have the best shot though the Marlins could sneak in and take the NL East.

I am a Kansas City Royals fan, so obviously I did not have any expectations going into the season! But I feel good about this season anyway... I think they are going to finish out of last place, which is an improvement! But as for shockers this season.. I feel pretty good about the Rays! It's great to see a small market team be successful, especially in the AL East!! With the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees... I don't think the Yankees have it in them to get the wild card, so this will be the first year in how long since they have made the playoffs?? I think that is great.. a new age in baseball :)

really... kansas city??? and i appreciate how good you feel about the whole yankee situation... really sets my mood.. just kiddin' ya.. the only thing i think kansas did wrong was signing Guillen for more than 1 year... guy is way overpriced and is too conflictive, he talks too much and probes too little in return..

I am not disappointed at all in my team, the Chicago White Sox. Their pitching has been so much better than expected, and Carlos Quentin has come up huge for us this year, hitting 32 Home Runs. However, if they don't make the playoffs, then it would definitely become a disappointment in my team, as I feel they have World Series capable talent. Go Sox!

That is actually one of the surprises for this season. The White Sox were not expected to compete but now they are right up there for the divisional title. Other than a complete collapse, White Sox fans have to be very happy with this season's results.

Im an Atlanta Braves fan... and im greatly dissapointed in their season. Ive never been this disapointed in one of my favorite teams before as much as this. I just hope they'll have their heads on straight this offseason and make some good moves... so we can get back to our NL East dominance

I must admit i'm somewhat disappointed with my Yankees... i knew this year expectations weren't precisely high, but still.. that's not a real excuse... even thou most of the yanks problems come from injuries, there are teams with less resources that are making a huge impact (Marlins anyone?, Rays? Arizona??)
