I have an old computer which runs rather slowly. I bought an old memory and insert it to the PC 2 months ago. It has tow memories and runs more quickly these 2 months. But these days it runs slowly again. Do you know why it is slow now although there is 2 memories.

Just like the previous poster said .. it may happen by virus, spywares, worm or trojan that is infected your system. Try to look on the task manager on what process that consume a lot of resources. Scan your system with an updated anti virus! It is also may happen because you never DEFRAG your Hard Disk. DEFRAG your Hard Disk regulary (once a month), depending on your hard disk size it will take a long time to defrag. Hard Disk defragmenter can be found on this menu START ALL PROGRAMS ACCESSORIES SYSTEM TOOLS

In addition, get 'CCleaner' to cleanup your disk by deleting temp files, installation files, files left by your application that you don't need anymore, updates and of course your internet temporary files. This also has a registry fix to optimize the most used database in you PC, this will fix slow program start up. By the way it is freeware, so nothing to loose so much to gain.)

They are all right about virus. You couldn't blame the memory because it ran fine. But if you must, you can try taking it off and see if it is better. Sometimes, there are compatibility issues between motherboard and memory, which instead of increasing performance, they do the opposite, but this rarely happens
