I'm kind of using my laptop right now because the desktop was hanging, and my brother asked me to type something for him. And I think my laptop is faster than my desktop right now. My laptop specs is 2ghz but with 786mb ram, and my desktop have only 256mb. And the significance margin is huge, HUGE. This laptop is fast, and desktop is slow. And even though my laptop only uses wireless connection at 54mbps, the internet is still faster than at my desktop which has a 1000mbps direct connection to the router. So is your laptop faster than your desktop? Please answer those who have both. Have a nice day/night everyone.

Yes, it is simlilar to me. i bought my laptop last year while my desktop has been bought for 5 years. This summer vacation, i left my laptop in my dormitory and can only use my old and slow desktop. It drives me crazy when it is in stuck and i miss my laptop.

Oh yeah, but then I'm still opting for a desktop. I don't know why, for me it's easier to use a desktop, or it's just that laptops are slow when it comes to programming, but it's just me. Thanks for the response and have a very nice day.

for some reason, notebooks will always be/look slower than desktop pcs for me. I dunno why, but even if a notebook has higher configs than a desktop, it will always look "less powerful".

That's how I view it too. Maybe just this instance now because my desktop really lacked the juice. When this computer of mine still has that 512mb ram, the only thing that could slow it down is visual studio, and my laptop cannot top the speed. Now I know the big difference in ram size, and my laptop has 768 something, but still at times it's slow. I think the major factor around that is the 2.5 HDD drives, which I haven't encountered a 7,200rpm until now. Well, thanks for the response and have a nice day.

The same with me also,my laptop is far more faster than my desktop. My laptop's configuration is 1.6ghz,2gb ram,128mb graphics card whereas my desktop has only 256mb ram and no graphics card.So you can see there is a lot of difference between them but My laptop is costlier than my desktop and if i will buy a desktop in that price then that desktop will be ultimate.

Yeah, but I still love this old desktop of mine, and I will eventually have it exchanged for a new "used" one. Thanks for the response and have a nice day!
