Dear friend, I am a Muslim and I have no doubt that this is the word of one true God. However, I feel it is very wrong for someone to post such an issue here for an absurd discussion. Have you read the book yourself? If not, then how could you pose such a question for public display? If you did read it, do you understand everything in its entirety? Are you yourself a following Muslim? What myths and legends are you talking about? I haven't seen a book so scientifically oriented. Please refer to my previous posts elsewhere where I have taken the liberty to show how scientifically accurate the Quran actually is. Let me just give you a grief overview of what I am talking about really. It is very clearly stated in the Holy Quran that the universe is expanding the day it came into existent. The scientists before the 20th century were of the view that we live in a stable, unchanging universe where nothing expands or shrinks. And mind you, Islam began in the 14th century. Also, it was just recently that we came to the conclusion that the ultimate universe demise and fate would that be of it shrinking again yet into a singularity from where the Big Bang began. Before we used to think that the universe would just keep on expanding to oblivion. Allah (God) has clearly mentioned in the Quran that He would "roll up the heavens like a scroll." Thank you for reading my point of view too. Have a great day!

^_^ yes it clearly and and affirmatively stated that.. your Allah told you to kill non-Muslim.. if it is the Word of God.. and the one and only prophet is Muhammad then why did the Hadith reveals that Muhammad had to ask forgiveness for sin more than seventy times a day. (Bukhari vol. I, nos. 711; 78; vol. V, no. 724) since you Muslim believe a prophet that a Prophet is sinless and why did Muhammad kissed and caressed the idol of black stone set into the wall f the Kabah. (Muslim vol. II, no. 2912, 2916) isn't that idolatry..

* Bible:- Mat:10:34: Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a SWORD. * Lu:22:36: Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no SWORD, let him sell his garment, and buy ONE!

Hi folks,I have read some of the posts which most of the Anti-Islam people have given here. Some of them have crossed all the limits as before and made personal blames against the final Prophet of God Almighty. This shows that such people have lost reason due to their hatred for Islam. Most of the people donot know that the final Prophet Muhammad(pbuh)was unlettered and illiterate. He could nor read or write but it was a miracle that he memorized whole of this book by heart. This was done by God Almighty that He saved this holy book in his heart at that time and is doing the same to all those Muslims who want to memorize it.There are millions of such Muslims in this world today who have this honour inspite of the fact that Arabic may not be their mother tongue. In the forthcoming Holy month of Ramadan, you can find yourself such Quran Memorizers reciting this holy book without seeing it in the night prayers. What is this? Is'nt it a live miracle of Islam for whole the world to see......??Can you produce a single person in this world who has memorized any Holy book including Bible? Then you will find lot of difference between the language of Quran and the language of our Holy Prophet(pbuh). In fact one God Almighty had given challenge to whole the Arabs to produce even a single verse like the Quranic verses revealed by Him.No one could do it at that time.........and even in this time.......... TO BE CONTINUED............

29:48 And thou wast not (able) to recite a Book before this (Book came), nor art thou (able) to transcribe it with thy right hand: In that case, indeed, would the talkers of vanities have doubted. 7:157 Those who follow the messenger, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper. Quran clearly states that Prophet was illiterate. Prophet Mohamamd prophesised and start recieving Quran revelations. So Quran was never copied from other scriptures. As per some of those hadiths like you mentioned, scholars states, Islam promote learning and and education, So there is a chance that later he might have learned some letters as he grown but the scholarship explanation varies a bit though. It is a fact that our Holy Prophet(pbuh)never saw any sea or traveled in it but this Holy book is telling us about those creatures who live in depth of seas and no one can tell about them without diving and seeing them except one God Almighty.......What do you think about these facts? Then this Holy Book gives lot of scientific informations which are proving to be true in the modern researches.None of such informations have been given in previous scriptures. Even the Quran tells more miracles of Prophets Moses and Jesus(peace be upon them)as compared to the Bible. It says Jesus talked in his cradle and gave clear statement in favour of one God Almighty and his mother.I donot think this is given in the Bible. At the end I shall quote two famous personalities: SIR WILLIAM MUIR said: "There is probably in the world no other book which has remained twelve centuries with so pure text." MR CARLYLE said: "This(Quran) is yet the highest wisdom that Heaven has revealed to our earth." PLEASE READ?RESEARCH THIS HOLY BOOK INSTEAD OF CRITICISING IT..............

I'll be perfectly honest and say that Ive never read it myself BUT I still believe that like any religious text, be it the bible, the Qur'an, the Tanakh or whatever...I DON'T think any of them are the actual "word of" any higher power, deity or god etc...

Your kind of hung up on the fact that your god is different than everyone elses G'd. I have noticed this in other discussions too. Are you pagan or something? Because Catholics, Christians, Muslims and Jews all worship the same Supreme G'd Just Catholics and Christians worship 3 gods while Muslims and Jews are Monotheists. Catholics also pray to saints and angels as do some Christians. Shalom,Salaam,Peace~Adoniah

Yup, I figured you were one of the escapees from YA's R&S section........ Just because it is different from your bible doesn't make it any less vaild as a religious book, most try to say the bible doesn't teach violence but it does (Doesn't it say to kill non-believers? I remember reading that in there), you look at only the good in the bible yet ignore the evil it teaches, why can't you do the same with books from the other religions? Or is it just another way to justify telling another person that their religion is wrong?

Personally I believe that God had to have his hand in it. Why? Because God used Muhammad to reconcile the people who would not listen to other prophets. But I feel that a lot of Muslims take the Doctrine of men over the word of God. Why is it they don't read the scriptures or the Torah? Why do they call Christians and Jews unbelievers when they worship the same God? It clearly says in the Qur'an that all truth will be revealed on the day of resurrection when judgment will come to everyone. On the other hand I am sure there are a lot of Muslims who feel all Christians are idolaters and worship mother Mary and Jesus over God which is the biggest sin according to their own faiths.

Its to Isaacs line that the promise of the messiah was delivered, but salvation comes through faith and Abraham was judged righteous by his faith, not by his blood. There are many who were considered righteous who were not the seed of Isaac in the Torah because of their faith.

^_^ then you are saying that God did not really establish his covenant on Ishmael.. and trace back the genealogy of Jesus Christ.. it goes back to Abraham..

^_^ you said Torah.. Muslim claims that God establish his covenant on Ishmael.. but read Torah.. in Genisis 17:19 And God said: 'Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him. i can't paste the Hebrew coz the system can't understand the language.. and just put question mark.. so see its in ISAAC.. and regarding Prophet Muhammad.. see this.. http://www.faithfreedom.org/challenge.htm

I have never read it. As far as I know, it is the Holy Book of the Muslims. They think God dictated it through visions to the prophet Mohammed, and therefore, according to them, it is the word of God. I am not a Muslim, so to me, it is just a book. Cheers and happy mylotting

It's hard to say how I view the Quran without feeling angry. I just happened to be viewing it right now and came upon this passage. 9. At-Tawbah - (The Repentance) English Yusuf Ali: [9:111] Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded: that is the achievement supreme.
