On my way home tonight I noticed those electric candles people put in there windows. I started to realize that alot of people have them, I mean a lot. Is there a meaning to them or are they just decorations? I was just wondering, because so many people have them, i thought there might be a special meeting to them. Let me know if you know anything about them please. Thanks.

Back during the underground railroad, people who helped the slaves runaway to the north would put candles in their windows. That is how the people knew what were safe houses where they would sleep during the day.
I think now, it's mostly for decoration but mean welcome to my home kind of.

I should think there is a real meaning for this, what i don't know but i am very pleased that they are using elecrtic candles rather than real candles. if real candles were being used just think of the fires etc that could happen and the lives that could be lost or homes damamged by fire.
so on the safelty front well done
