There are many good computer operating systems in our computers, like Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux and so on. Every system has its advantages and disadvanges. i use XP now, and am planing to change to Vista in the future. And what system do you use? What do you think of it?

I'm using windows xp with vista plugins. Windows XP need less requirements to run unlike windows vista. And most of the programs you will install will work perfectly.

I use XP now because I've become accustomed to the interface. Anyways I'm planning to use Linux in the future, probably Ubuntu, I'll just wait until they release the PS3 compatible pack, I don't want to mess with the PS3 having that uncertainty in mind. I'm not planning to have Vista soon, because my pc is a wee bit slow. And probably I'll try a Unix system in the future, if ever I got a programming job yes. For now it's just XP.

Linux is one of the opening-source operating systems, which i appreciate very much compared to Windows. i am willing to be a software engineer after graduation and i am interested in it.

Please do. You won't regret it. Learning Linux is one rewarding experience. Well, that's just me. Good luck with the software engineer career. Wish me luck too, I'm going out next week to try my luck again and apply for a software engineer position.

I was a user of windows 98 about five years ago. But now I'm using XP. A few month after the vista got realesed, I thought to switch to Vista. But one of my friend told me that its kind of complicated and slow process. Yet it is upgraded and the visual is extra ordinary. Though many programes are not supported bu vista. Then I changed my mind and get myself stick to XP once again. I must say XP is a wonderful operating system. It has almost everything. And most importantly I am satisfied with XP. I love my O.S.

I have two laptops and one PC at home. I use XP on my Laptop and PC. 'cause by far, i think it is the best operating system. I had installed Vista on my other laptop, i did not find it much compatible to most of the programs. So i have to downgraded it to XP. and I'm happy usng XP. One my friend too purchased a new Laptop with Vista. But just after 15 days, he too downgraded his vista to XP lol

I also use Windows XP. I remember when I was still using Windows 98 and I first saw XP, I was amazed at the themes; it looked so beautiful. However, my friends that time warned me that XP was still new and that many devices will still not work with it so I changed to XP a bit later than most people. Like you, I also plan to change to Vista in the future when I have the money to upgrade my system and when Vista finally matures as an OS. My office mate's laptop that is pre-installed with Vista performs so slow and he is a bit annoyed with some of his old software not working in Vista so I'm not in a hurry to change yet.
