my sister, who is studying to be a nurse, was talking to someone on the phone and i heard her say... she does not mind donating her organs when she dies... well... no harm in that of course, even i want to do it when i die... but the thing is... that she dares not donate her blood... at all.... and so, that is odd... to me that is... i dont know about how you feel... well... i have donated blood before... but have also gone for surgery that is my choice... so i dont know... needles dont really scare me.... so i dont mind donating blood... or organs, for that matter... what about you? do you want to donate blood and organs? or just one of the choices?

Hi raclie its really odd for a nurse to be scared of needles and not willing to donate blood. Anyway, I donate blood. And yet not decided about organ donation. But certainly organ donation is very much important.

I am not in good health. I am a designated organ donor though. I have asthma and can not donate blood due to the fear of an attack while in the process. I can't even donate plasma due to the asthma. better safe than sorry for both the donor facility as well as my health. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I haven’t tried donating blood before. I am not allowed too donate blood because I am anemic. It’s not possible for me to donate blood because my red blood count is low, it’s not very healthy at all. When I die, I don’t know, donating my organ or body is somewhat weird for me. It’s not being selfish, but I haven’t really considered donating my body parts or anything…

I donate my blood every now and then and it makes me feel good not only with my health but with the fact that somewhere out there someone might be needing it and doing so could mean that I could save that life. Also for men donating blood is a really a good thing because we need to renew our blood cells and to remove the bad iron in it already. So I think everyone should go donate blood to save lives.

I have donated blood before and I also know a lot of people that won't for fear of dirty needles. As far as organs. I fully intend to donate my organs should something happen to me. I won't need them where I am going so why not allow someone else the chance to live with them.

It is designated on my drivers license that I am a organ donar. I feel that if I can help someone with any of my organs that is the least I can do. It could help save someones life. I don't see any problem with that. Donating blood I also don't have any problems with it is the doing of it that causes the problem. Because it is extremely hard to get blood out of me. It is not unusual for them to have to use a butterfly needle to get blood from me. So I don't donate blood because of that reason.
