What do you put on your waffles and pancakes? Sometimes I put peanut butter on mine, and sometimes it's organic apricot-flavored syrup. How about you?

With pancakes or crepes, I will put either jam, lemon and sugar, or syrup. Now with hotcakes, it is different. I will put butter and either regular syrup or maple syrup if I can get some. It is rather expensive $15.00 for a jar and I do not mean a large can. With waffles, I will also put jam, or maple or regular syrup. But sometimes I will just have butter on the hotcakes or waffles and I do not have them that often. I do put peanut butter on cold waffles when I want something to eat, but it has been a while since I had any waffles or hotcakes. I do make pancakes around Shrove Tuesday, that is the beginning of lent. My mother did that and I guess I am carrying on the tradition.

I know what you mean about maple syrup being expensive. I can only get it when I can find it on sale somewhere. Peanut butter on waffles is really good, but it seems that if the waffles are too hot then it won't spread very well. So, it ends up going on cold waffles. I can see your point there, too. I have never heard of Shrove Tuesday. Thank you for informing me about that. I have neer put lemon and sugar on pancakes and crepes. I really ought to try that sometime. Thanks for the input and the ideas!

I haven't tried boysenberry syrup in a very long time. I really ought to get some of that sometime. It sounds like it is delicious!

I am Canadian, so I like REAL MAPLE SYRUP, none of this stupid flavoured stuff, LOL My American husband makes the mistake ONCE of making me waffles with Aunt Jemima Maple (flavoured) syrup on them. YUCKY!! Look at my Canadian flag. There is a MAPLE LEAF in the middle. I think I know what real maple syrup tastes like, and that's what I want to eat on my pancakes and waffles,

I totally hear you there. When I put maple syrup on my waffles, it's only the real stuff, not the flavored, sickly sweet goo that they call pancake syrup. My mother can't understand why I keep buying maple syrup as it is more expensive. But, for me it's got to be real or else! The flavored goo, to me anyway, tastes like some kind of funky-tasting flavored liquid sugar, and it's not good for you anyway.

I like either just syrup or some times I put fresh or frozen (defrosted) fruit and a little powder sugar. Umm. Waffles!

That sounds delicious! Sometimes frozen strawberries or raspberries on hot waffles hits the spot.
