BBC's online "Iplayer" service (Streaming TV shows to Your computer) showed the "Top Gear" Show's race across London,I watched it again last night online..would recommend it!
If You haven't seen the show,do take a look..!
The Presenters each took a different mode of transport to get them from the west of London to the east, leaving from near the M25 ring road and travelling to the London Docklands Airport.
Hammond took a specialist lightweight bicycle,
May got a BIG Mercedes SUV,
They gave "The Stig" an Oyster card for London transport services, and He'd to make his way by bus, tube, and rail...
And Clarkson played it sneaky and used a honkin' powerboat to travel along the Thames!
Hammond Won,Clarkson came second,"The Stig" third, and May came LAST!
It was kinda embarrassing for a Motoring programme to come up with the result that a car was the worst way to get across London,When the Car has proven itself repeatedly faster in every challenge they'd set against it,Even the most recent one I'd seen in Japan where public transport, including the famous "Bullet train" runs and meshes like clockwork..So..How do You feel about Your car? Replaceable? or indispensable?

I don't live anywhre near London so it's not as bad on traffic and quite easy to travel by car - in fact it is much better as our public transport services are not that great!
I love that episode too and it was so much fun to watch! It makes me laugh watching the stig with his helmet on walking around getting on the tube and bus etc!! lol x

The public transport in my (mainly rural) area isn't great either..no trains, and there's a bus out of here only twice a day,8:15 and afternoon! So the car's about the only workable option for a Family here..For Me,in good weather,I'll get out my Ebike! My car was off the road for a head gasket replacement, and the bike kept me going the entire time for local shopping and my 4 mile commute! Only thing is,the "Top Gear" guys don't seem too sold on electric transport!
