What happened to Mau Marcelo?

I also like Maus's voice and attitude. Let us go back to the competition where Sarah Geronimo became famous, Mao was also a contestant but she did not make it. No offense to Sarah, Mau's voice is more powerful and deep than hers, but unfortunately for Mau. As what she said way back on the Philippine Idol competition, when she was eliminated she said that she was joining a singing competition, she was disappointed because it looks like the criteria for picking a winner always involves a beauty standard. Fortunately for her, she went on winning the the competition by entering the wild card. Nice talent, I just hope it would not be put into a waste, just simply because this country always go for the good looking individuals who could not even sing an exact note.

Last i heard... she was doing performances in provinces... i like Mau Marcelo because she is very down to earth... and a good performer... too bad gma7 did not recognize her win as the first Philippine Idol... Pinoy Idol would have been a lot more interesting if they included her... I hope to see her performing again on TV...

Winning the grand prize is never a guarantee to stardom these days...well this is quite unfortunate to think of. There are a lot of cases on this. As an example, I still remember that Makisig was not the grand winner also but he is the one who got all the breaks and projects -- now where was that boy who won the grand prize...nowhere to be found! I don't know who decides whom to market or not...who will be given such good breaks and exposure is definitely mind-boggling.

Well, she was at our firm's anniversary last July 18. She and Gian Magdangal were the main performers. Other than that, well, I don't really know. It's sad that she's been cast away like that as she has a wonderful voice.
