I would like to withdraw the money I have in my paypal account to my bank account here in India. Has anyone done it before. I kind of know the procedure but am skeptical about whether the bank will allow it or how much my bank may end up charging me.
Can someone enlighten me with their personal experience in India please.

Hi pitstop, i am thinking of the same thing.
For account verification we need credit card for paypal. For applying credit card we need pan card i think. I don't think that we can transact through debit card. Lets enquire this matter in bank.Catch you later

well, for you to be able to withdraw your money you should have to be at least verified paypal, right? contact your bank and ask if you can have any debit card for you to use it in paypal.,cause in the philippines we do have one which you can use as a savings and debit card at the same time.,Ü hope you could solve it soon ., Ü best of luck!

I have done it. I have a verified paypal account and I have already withdrawn the amount from it to my saving banks account in ICICI bank. All you need to have is a verified paypal account and the amount will be deposited into your bank account in 7 days of your withdrawal from the paypal account.
I would not like to give the details here for the obvious reason of secrecy. I am sure the transaction would come under the tax scrutiny but since paypal can be used for sending and receiving money from friends and relatives it can be shown as not being an income source.
