Did you ever drop water to the keyboard

I often sit before the PC for a long time and forget to have water. While I am thirsty and have water, there is possibility that the water may drop to the keyboard because I am preoccupied by the PC. Once I droped some water to the keyboard and half of the keys couldn't work. I disassemble the keyboard and tried to repair it. But I failed and I had to buy a new one. Perhaps I was too rash. If I didn't repair it and wait for some days it would be dry and work well. Did you ever drop water to the keyboard?

My brother once accidentally had water on and in the keyboard. He was drinking some cold drink and placed the container on the computer desk. Since the cold caused some condensation already, the water moved and dripped from the computer desk to the keyboard. Then, I think it did some weird things and stopped functioning. We had to buy a new one too.

I've not done it myself but know plenty of people who have. As far as I know you're meant to unplug the keyboard, turn it upside down and leave it to dry. I think if you spill anything in your keyboard that has sugar in it then it will break.
