Life and technology

Hi all. I often see my kids are busy with Tv programs or computer games. I remember my childhood, when we used to play in the field and used see TV programs only once/twice a day. But now, children have forgot to go outside and play. Are new technologies making gen-x more self oriented and un social? Of course,I agree with the necessity of technology. But whether it's making our children dependent on it?

Unless parents take the time to encourage their children to go outside and play, most kids will choose to stay inside and play video games or computer games. I have seen this trend with my youngest daughter and also with my grandson but my older daughter (his mom) makes him go outside and play. If it were up to him, he'd play video games a lot more than he does.

Hi spalladino Thanks for your reply. Yes, I agree with your idea. Parents should make efforts to help the kids in this regard. But, in my case, as both of us - hubby and wife- leave for job, my children slowly picked up the habit of watching TV and stay inside.

I absolutely agree with you.Technologies make children self oriented and unsocial. The new generation has no interaction with society. We can't do any thing in it.Because it depends on the atmosphere where they are growing. Thanks,
