I hear many negative things abou your religion but I think that's just due to people being judgmental. I don't know much about your religion, thus why I am asking. What is the basic belief structure? What does your religous book (The Quran, if I remember right, please correct me if I have it wrong) say about respecting others? About other religions? About women? There's so many questions I have but I'll just start off with those few as not to swamp you with all kinds of questions. (Please note: I'm not asking to insult you, I am honestly interested in what you believe because I like learning about other people's belief structures, it lets me beeter understand people)

Hello Victoria, Indeed, Islam Is The most Misunderstood Religion on the Earth Because of loads of False propaganda, It is very good of you to ask for Information about Islam from Muslims, as it is a matter of fact that the most appropriate way to get information about any religion is to ask People of that Religion. For The Basic Beliefs of Islam I recommend: http://www.isb.org.uk/pages/islam_explained/pages/ie1.htm it is a Link of 21 Pages explains the Basic Beliefs of Islam as for what does the Holy Quran says about: - respecting others - other religions - About women Here is My response about all one by one *- about respecting Others: [060:008] God forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for God loveth those who are just. [060:009] God only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong. and: [004:036] Serve God, and join not any partners with Him; and do good- to parents, kinsfolk, orphans, those in need, neighbours who are near, neighbours who are strangers, the companion by your side, the wayfarer (ye meet), and what your right hands possess: For God loveth not the arrogant, the vainglorious;- as for Other religions there are: - The People of book (i.e Christians and Jews) - and Other People who don't believe in God for The people of book: [029:046] And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; Our God and your God is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)." and for the disbelievers: [109:001] Say : O ye that reject Faith! [109:002] I worship not that which ye worship, [109:003] Nor will ye worship that which I worship. [109:004] And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship, [109:005] Nor will ye worship that which I worship. [109:006] To you be your Way, and to me mine. and For Both: [005:105] O ye who believe! Guard your own souls: If ye follow (right) guidance, no hurt can come to you from those who stray. the goal of you all is to God: it is He that will show you the truth of all that ye do. also There are some verses about Fighting The Disbelievers but not Because They were Disbelievers but because They Fought Muslims for their Faith and drove Muslims out of their Homes Because Muslims Believed that Idols are not Gods and not to be worshiped, and Because Muslims worship the god Allah, when they defend Their Beliefs against people who fight Muslims For Their Faith, it is Considered "Fighting in the Case of Allah" [002:190] Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loveth not transgressors. Provided That: [008:061] But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in God: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things). and: [004:094] O ye who believe! When ye go abroad in the cause of God, investigate carefully, and say not to any one who offers you a salutation: "Thou art none of a believer!" Coveting the perishable goods of this life: with God are profits and spoils abundant. Even thus were ye yourselves before, till God conferred on you His favours: Therefore carefully investigate. For God is well aware of all that ye do. as For women Is Islam This Link is very useful: http://www.islamawareness.net/Women/ Please also refer to "Women in Islam Versus Women in Juedo Christian Tradition" it is a Comparative study about women. If you have More question, I 'll do my best :) Thanks, and Best Regards

The basic belief of Islam is:- Believe in One God, follow his guidance, believe in last day and do good deeds. They he will get everlasting rewards in after life. Testify willingly: "There is none to be worshiped other than Allah(God), and Prophet Mohammad is Allah's messenger" Our belief and deeds are important, and it will be evaluated and based on it our destiny will be determined. Quran teaches to respect others, and everyone. Woman is considered as a human as man and should be respected, they are having equal rights, and as they are physically different from men there may have some slight variation in physical aspects. I could quote the verses. You can see many people around here and many places mis quoting Quran, without understanding what is Quran itself, and they try to spread hatred against Quran and Islam. We should learn about different people and cultures from the real followers of those cultures, it will increase our tolerance between us. Very nice of you asking questions like this. Always welcome to any kind of questions. Thanks. Peace.

Thank you. That's why I ask, after all, if we don't ask we don't learn. The religion I follow is also very misunderstood so I can understand the way rumors and hateful comments from people who don't know anything about the religion can feel.
