As a tall person myself It has amazed me how this woman has lived her life with so many obsticals and Challenges and I am saddened to hear of her passing. Sandy Allen, the tallest woman in the world. Indiana native was born a healthy, 6-lb., 5-oz. baby. But a tumor on her pituitary gland triggered rapid growth, and by her 10th birthday she was more than six feet tall, towering over her teacher. Her last recorded height was was 7' 7ΒΌ inches (232 cm. The Indianapolis Star reported that Allen died early in the morning of August 13, 2008

It's sad how people have to maneuver through obstacles and tasks just because she is tall. I am also tall myself and it is sad that she has passed away. She was very unique and it was in a good way. It wasn't her fault that her pituitary gland triggered rapid growth. R.I.P Sandy Allen

It's sad but the conditions that make people so extremely tall also create problems and they don't live long lives. May she rest in peace!

Interesting story, I have never heard of Sandy Allen, I did go to the website, and read about her life. People can be so cruel, when they do not take the time to understand to know why some people are different. No one is perfect, and to make someone feel uncomfortable because they are different is so cruel. I am sure she was a really nice person. And thanks for posting this, because I learned something today
