Ah, I love penguins too, and it's so sweet that they're holding hands!
We recently went to a place called Birdland here in the UK, and we saw giant penguins for the first time. They were really tame and friendly and let us get right up close to them. They seemed almost human; a bit like little, plodding people. They appeared to like posing for photos! Here's one that I took.

Well, I will say that this photo was taken just at the right moment, which gives this sort of illusion. If you had seen the picture closely, or not even that closely, you would have noticed that the penguins aren't holding on to each other at all by their (hands, you say????) appendages. There's a very obvious gap between the two. Neither is the left penguin falling off. It's just at a particular pose of walking. Penguins flop from this side to that while walking. The left penguin is just at its leftmost stretch of its walking cycle. This photo doesn't indicate any special bond between the two creatures. But, all the same, I applaud the photographer who so cleverly shot these penguins at the right instant so that this illusion could be created. He perhaps have had to wait for a long time for just the perfect postures. Cheers.

True Love: The bonding between two animals. After seeing "March of the Penguins" my wife, Vicki, gave the DVD to me for xmas. Here in Colorado when snow storms are raging, I get it out and watch. During these times I greet everyone by saying "Another day in paradise!" And compared to what the penguins endure the statement is true.
