I don't know about all you myLotters, but I am sure enjoying the 2008 Beijing Olympics. I just love watching the beach volleyball, swimming, gymnastics, and diving competitions.
Have you been watching the Olympics? What is your favorite sports to watch at the Olympics this year? If you don't watch, why not?

i want to see some actions from the beijing olympics. but because i am so busy with my two jobs, i have no time to watch tv, sometimes i even miss the late night news. i can only see some updates of the events in the newspaper. but if i can have time to watch the olympic events, i just want to see the gymnastics where i remember nadia komenechi excelled in the 80's, am i right?

Hello neildc.
So sorry you have not been able to watch the Beijing Olympics. They have been very entertaining and inspiring. Sounds like you are working too hard.
Yes, the gymnastics have been good also. I, too, remember Nadia Komenechi, she was an awesome athlete, wasn't she?

she was really awesome. nadia as i can remember during my childhood, was the greatest gymnast of her time. she also served as one of my inspiration in my sporting life. i really adore her though we came from different places. she's russian, right? and i am a filipino.

No, I am not watching. I just don't care to watch it. I can find out the results later. I guess I'm just not very competitive. I don't care for sports much either.

After this posting I did catch some of the Olympics last night. I saw the American women beat the Chinese in gymnastics. It was awesome!

Hello piasabird.
It makes sense that not everyone would enjoy the Olympics as much as I do. I don't usually read the sports page in the newspaper, so I wouldn't know anything about what's going on if I wasn't watching it. However, I do love so many of the events. And, I love to watch women athletes perform.
I get so inspired by athletes, I'm not sure why. It just looks like they are trying so hard and the least I can do in my daily life is strive to do better.
I'm far from being a sports nut, but I love the Olympics. Thanks for responding.

I have watched it everyday and blogged about it, even when I was in the hospital. My friends posted my entries for me when I was hospitalized. My facorite sports are gymnastics, swimming, diving, and lately handball. I don't much like track or basketball, although I will watch some of those this year for blogging purposes.

Hello cripfemme.
The Beijing Olympics are just great. I, too, like all the sports you mention. I have not seen any handball on there. That must be on during times I don't watch. I used to play racquetball and loved it. I think handball is similar, isn't it?
I actually am waiting for the track and field stuff. It may have already started, I just haven't seen any of it yet.
Sorry to hear you were in the hospital but it's good that you are out now. Good luck with your blogging. Thanks for responding. Take care.

Haven't really watched any games lately because I have been extremely busy at work and with my own stuff, so I basically haven't turned on the TV so far. I usually watched the news to have a recap on who got what.

Hello wrld_n_harmony.
It sounds like you are loving the Olympics! That's cool. They are fantastic. I did not see the opening as we were out of town. But I've heard alot about it and it must have been just awesome. Keep enjoying the Beijing Olympics. Take care.

We are watching some of them. I like gymnastics, shooting, and weight lifting events best myself. I don't get to see much of the shooting or weight lifting though because they are televised as much. I like the swimming and stuff but it seems they show it ALL the time.
My husband is waiting on the track and field events.

Hey sunnflr.
I, too, enjoy the gymnastics. They mentioned shooting the other day, but I don't remember watching it. I haven't seen any weightlifting. Guess you are right, they must not show those events as often. Yes, they show alot of swimming, and I'm sure that someone who doesn't like it would get sick of it.
I, too, am waiting on the track and field events. I think one was on today while I was cleaning but I didn't get to sit down and watch it. I'm sure they'll be more.
Take care.

Hi jill.
I enjoy the gymnastics also. Swimming is my favorite! When I'm home during the day, I've got the Olympics on in the background. When we're home in the evening, we've got it on most of the time. I just love to watch them.
I am so inspired by watching great athletes. Glad you are enjoying some of the Olympics also.

Greetings jaded22.
I watched a basketball game or 2. I love, love, love the swimming, so I've tried to catch as many of those meets as I can. I've seen the beach volleyball also. It looks like so much fun!
I haven's seen any badminton. I wonder if it's been on yet? Take care and thanks for responding. Enjoy the Olympics!

Hi PearlGrace, I have been watching when I can. I have been watching more of the swimming and water events than anything. Michael Phelps is amazing but our UK girls aren't doing too bad either. It is not something I actively choose to watch but have been if it is on when I tune into the TV. Ellie :D

Hey ellie.
Yes, I watched your UK ladies swimming and they are really good! Great athletes! There's something so inspiring about watching athletes who excel in their sports, at least for me. I can't describe it, it just gives me a feeling inside that I want to do more and try harder at everything.
