How many of you believe in Hell?

Is there really punishment in the Afterlife? How, in your opinion, might one end up there?

If you believe in the afterlife then hell must be there waiting for you. I wouldn't worry too much about something I don't anything about I would prefer to enjoy this life now. 99% of the things that people worry about never happen so live clean and loving. Behave yourself and be nice to all and if you reach hell they will lock you out because of good behavior.

Depending on the type of afterlife you believe in...I believe in a life after this one (reincarnation to be more specific) but there is no heaven or hell....

Not too sure of reincarnation because I can't remember who I was before, but it surely seems a better idea. It doesn't make any sense to be given another life to destroy in hell or go to heaven to praise Jesus 24/7 for eternity and rule (I don't know what) by His side

I don't believe in Hell, partly because I don't believe in an afterlife at all, and partly because the whole concept of Hell makes no sense. What's the point of eternally punishing someone with no chance of redemption, ESPECIALLY when the one doing the punishing (hypothetically--I don't believe in God) is someone who has the power to rehabilitate the person in the blink of an eye? I mean, if God's supposed to be like a parent and we're supposed to be the children...would a loving parent ever punish and torture a wayward child eternally if they had the power to instantly rehabilitate them instead? No--so why would God?
P.S. I've heard enough "turn or burn" from evangelicals directed at me to be fairly convinced that Hell to most of these people is just an excuse for expressing their OWN hatred and bloodlust without having to feel any 'guilt' for it--it's not THEM being hateful, they'll say--it's GOD who doesn't like atheists, and will make them burn for not believing. Know what I mean?

Well I am going to jump to a conclusion and take it you are talking of the catholic version of hell. No I don't believe in that version of hell I believe in the resurrection and that the devil and the false prophet shall be cast into a burning lake of fire at the day of final judgment.

My personal belief of Hell is the absence of G'd. Once we have had our personal judgement which I believe we bring down on ourselves. We basically judge ourselves. Our own horror before our Maker of what we have done to Him will make us judge ourselves more harshly than He ever would. Our decision will be to either ask and receive forgiveness and spend eternity in His presence or damn ourselves and spend eternity without Him and that would be Hell.
However, I do not believe that Hell has to be permanent. At anytime, we can ask for forgiveness and return to Hashem's presence and enjoy "Heaven".

Me personally, I believe there is a Hell with literal flames. And it is permanent. There is no forgiveness beyond the grave. That is why He says in the Good Book that "now is the accepted time of salvation."
