Pals...i don't know whether you might have come across something like this.....sometime i used to have a nightmare which really haunt me....like a killer chasing me...or a ghost or vampire trying to posses me.... so i was running in my dream as fast as i can but hardly an inch of step at a time & seems i was to be overpowered or captured.... but know exactly that i was in a semi-conscious state knowing that its just a dream and i couldn't help myself to wake up.....finally after a herculean effort at last i woke up but it consumes hell of my strength & energy..... so pals if if you might have come across such things or a remedies to it,please share with me & your suggestion is most welcome .... Thanks.

What do you work as? Stressful? From experience I always have my worst nightmares when I had a long hard day at work. Try to relax and sleep early, and stop thinking of work related stuff before you sleep.

Ok, I got what you meant. Basically this phenomenon is quite well known among the chinese. There's a chinese term for it, which can be translated as saying ghost lying on you. But scientifically I heard that its just something to do with the way your brain works, along the line that you body wants to rest but your brain have not stop functioning yet, so you feel as if you cannot move your body. Personally whenever i encounter such a phenomenon, there are 2 ways I approach it. 1. Focus all your attention just to open your eyes. Even if you can move your hands and legs it is of no use. Once your eyes open everything is back to normal. 2. It's just a dream right? Just let it carry on knowing it is not real. You might get a better sleep. Actually normally I try the 2nd method. Maybe thats why I stopped having such feelings.

I don't know how it works for others, but i have the ability to pray in my dreams. and I can understand that its only a dream. However, like you mentioned, I do have the inability to step/move fast. That happens. But my remedy is praying in my dreams. Some might not believe me but that is true. Cheers

I've heard that nightmares usually show up because of a meal you may have had before you slept. I don't know if that is completely true, but it probably takes half a role in that part. I always have dreams that feature me being chased or something. I tend to have negative dreams about me. I don't know any remedies, but I'd advise you to look some up if there are any.

yes I had experienced that kind of state. usually when I lie down and I am to half asleep half awake state, I felt that I was slowly falling or sometimes that monsters or bad ghost are haunting me. I tried so hard to wake up but I just can't and the wierd part is you know it is a dream and still it is very hard to wake up. But now when ever I come close to that state, I try to control it and I think it works. what I do is think and think that I will wake up.
