How many times have I heard this remark over and over again? A member gets upset (usually a new member) because their discussion gets erased because of the content of the discussion was against Mylot policy. When you see a discussion that has a violation do you try to warn the individual? If so, how do you go about doing that? If you respond do you ever worry that it will affect your standings with MyLot?

I usually am around every day. Don't always respond but I too enjoy reading the discussions. Somedays I wish I had more time to respond. Thanks.

I would be the one to violate the rules more than likely and I would appreciate the warning for sure. So what happens if your discussion is deleted? Do you lose whatever money you made for that discussion along with everyone who responded? That seems fair if you violated a rule. I never seen a discussion to have to warned anyone ... yet:) I would respond anyway if I was going to respond because obviously something moved me to login instead of ignoring the message. It doesn't bother me about the standings because they don't speak to my preferences only to the whole. I don't "Work MyLot" ... I treat it as a piggy bank. A penny here a penny there. Until I finally get minimum. I know MyLot will be here for a long while so I don't mind.

That is great that you would listen. When I was a junior here (under 1000 posts) I listened to everything that was told to me, if we had more of these people that would actually listen beforehand instead of whining about MyLot stealing their money afterwards, we would have less people whining. Yes, that's exactly what happens. You lose the money that you earned from that discussion, so does everyone else that responded. You also lose the post count of that particular post.

I don't know how I missed this...but I did not comment on your response. I am so sorry. I usually never miss one ecspecially from you. I agree with you, when I was new I too wanted people to warn me. I think it is better to be warned then to have Mylot come down on you by deleteing your account. Thanks for the response

i always feel bad doing this and i am no junior, but when i feel a violation has been committed, i will gently try to point out to the writer that their subject violates mylot's rules blessed be

I think it is a good triat to be gentle, especially with people who are new. We don't want them to feel like they are doing everything wrong. Most of us have done this at times. We live and learn.

How did MyLot cheat you out of your money? I never heard of this but I am aware that this is an active topic at the moment. It's not MyLots fault because New members should read MyLot's terms & regulations before signing up. If the new members break MyLots rules, and their discussion is erased, its their loss, they are the ones who put themselves in that position. When i see a discussion that has a violation, I tend to tell the user that they have broken a rule and I help them avoid breaking it again in the future. As an individual, I enjoy helping people. If I respond and if I'm not descriptive, I keep thinking about how I could've been more descriptive which usually helps my rating. Not thinking and typing without thinking has put me into a green 5 star(I had a gold 8 not long ago).

Mylot never cheated ME out of money. That is just what people say when they don't understand why their earnings lowered and the discussions were deleated. I like helping the noobs as they get started. They need training some of them. Otherwise they may get discouraged and leave.

I warn them as soon as i see that they are violating rules. It is common to do that. When i was new i also did that. It's no big deal. Then somebody warned me & i did not do it again. I was grateful to that person. But once when i warned someone he told me that it is not against mylots TOS. He also said that doing it again will not affect him. Then he also said that he got his account deleted over 5 times for doing this. OK for those who want to stay here get aware of that. They don't do it again. As you said that will it affect mylot's standings, there is nothing that will affect you for this i think.

Yes, I too warn them. I have made that mistake in the past and realized that it is best to learn from those who have been here. I have been here for almost a year now so I have done my fair share of warning others. thanks for the response

i did warn one of our fellow mylotters at that discussion he/she posted, not aware that if mylot deleted his/her discussion, it will also affect me...which actually happened...MYLOT deleted that discussion and thus affecting my post to that discussion, and i found out, i was also deducted some portion of my earnings...but the best way i think is just send message (pm) those who own discussion that has violated the MYLOT policy/rules...

My preference is the PM. that way if their discussion gets deleted they still have the information of what they can't do. thanks for the response.

I used to do this before, when I first became a senior of MyLot. However I've stopped because most of the newbies don't listen, even if they reply to your comment saying thanks for the info. Even if they do listen, there are ten new people that end up doing the same thing. I get tired of seeing these discussions. Where did my earnings go? How come I earned so much this day but only so much yesterday when I did the exact same thing? Before I used to try to be Captain Save-A-MyLotter and tell them why it happened, now I just pass by these discussions. They almost always get deleted anyway. You are on a roll today doublelove, what got into you?

Unfortunately, often when I do, that happens since the person may get removed. I do it anyway though to help new members out. One can only hope that they don't; and they learn the proper rules for this siste. If it were me; I'd want somebody to help me this way.

YES I try to warm somebidy, but sometimes they dont believe so they do it over and over again, maybe they just think of money they earn here not that violetion of mylot.Sometimes i dont mind it because we have different opinion,i cannot say yes if i am no right. So even my earning effected of what im respond but it ok.

There are always those who will not listen. For a time I didn't either. But then when I got my star at 100 post and saw it go down I wanted to try to do better.

Well I warn one of the newbies around here but it seems that they are not listening to I guess it's not our fault anymore because we did our part about the warning stuff..I can't definetly say that mylot will cheat because I can't see anymore reasons of cheating and well I am just here for fun and for new friends so I really don't worry about my standings..:-0 God bless and have a nice day..:-0

First of all Welcome to MyLot. I will send you a friend request. read the guidelines and that will help you. the number one reason a discussion would be deleated is if you put a referral link for another site in your discussion or response. You should not use the discussion itself to promote your referral. You can send a friend request and the send them a private message.

If they were violating the rules, its best they hear about it then rather than hearing it from a superior (ex. administrator). It can actually be a pain to hear it from new members. I mean, why should you earn money for posting something that clearly violated the rules of the site? If people were freely permitted to do something like that, this whole community would be a wreck and a lot of people would be earning money in an unfair way.

That's right RZ. BTW welcome to MyLot. New members need to be mentored (in a way) on how to use the Lot. I knwo that I was and continue to be even after almost a year here. Take care.

i had heard about this type of post so many times as well... i just don't understand why people do that... if they didn't follow the rules and guidelines here, then please don't blame mylot if their discussions are deleted and they lose some money... it is just the right thing for mylot to do that... those people are just pathetic and need to learn to follow the rules here... take care and have a nice day...

I would not go so far as to say pathetic, some are just new and didn't read the guidelines all the way through when the signed up. Those who are vets should know better. thanks for the response.
