I absolutely love this book! I'm picking it yup for the zillionth time since I first purchased it back in 2003. I really need to get a new copy, the one I have needs to be retired lol. It no longer has a cover, and a few of the pages are either just stuck in place, or missing altogether. The spine came loose a little while ago, and I have it taped together with duct tape. Still, I pick it up again today, and feel a souce of power. This book was published in 1937 by Napoleon Hill. Hill was commissions by Andrew Carnegie, then head of the United States Steel Corporation, to study successful ment and women to find out the difference beween those who succeed and those who fail in life. This venture took a course of twenty-plus years. The facts that Hill discovered revealed a secret so powerful, that it is still making millionaires out of ordinary men and women SEVENTY-ONE years later!!!! The book, Think and Grwo Rich, has helped millions upon millions in the industries of sales, insurance, network marketing, the corporate work world, and anyone else who took the time to learn the principles in this book, and applied them to their everyday lives. I will be one of those people. Hill states that it takes several times of reading the book in order for the mine to "click in" to the true message of the book. It takes a few times of reading the information for the mind to accept it, and begin actually using the principles listed in order to attract riches. I think this is that time for me. Of all the times that I have read this book, I was always alone in my studies. this time I have found a "Master Mind" group to study with. Hill defines a Master Mind group as a group of two or more people who coordinate their knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, for the attainment of a definite purpose. I feel that having this group will give me the knowledge I will require to succeed. (If you would like to join this group, Mentoring for Free, send me a pm and I will send you the link) So, for those of you who have read this book, how has it changed your life? How many times have you read it? Which part impressed you and/or helped you the most? If you haven't read the book, or would like an online copy, just add me as a friend (if you haven't already done so) and send me a message requesting it, with an e-mail address to send it to. I will send it directly from my e-mail in an attachment, including an accompanying workbook, all for free.

I have not reads it. I find it too expensive to own a copy. It's 5 years since you first purchased it. I guess you find the book useful since you are recommending it to you. Perhaps you can share how has the book influence your thinking?

Wow that's wonderful. I also learned to follow through. The one job that I got through a job agency, well it started out really crazy. I went to the wrong building, I didn't go to the interview. I called up ten hours after the interview. I explained myself. They gave me another chance & they had me wait two weeks because the job's training class hasn't started. I called then a few times to follow up--and I finally got the job. I don't think if I hadn't read the book about following up, and thought about calling back I wouldn't have gotten the job. Plus, I love the job now Pablo

I will share the story of when I first put the principles to work. I was in the insurance industry, and when I viewed the opportunity, I got so excited that I misread the paperwork when signing up, thinking the part that asked if I had any convictions was asking about felonies, and answered no. In fact I did have one charge on my record, and a non-conviction. Usually, to get your insurance sales license takes about two months; from taking the class to passing the exam. I had finished the class, and tried to register for the test, when I found out that the state Department of Insurance wasn't going to allow me to take it because of what they found in my background check versus what I had put on the application. I had been reading that book for a few months, and thought that it was time to put it to use. Most people would have given up, but I wasn't about to back down now. So instead of leaving things at that, I took a positive attitude and filed an appeal. I wrote them about the mistake I made on the application, and that there were extenuating circumstances behind each of those charges. I showed them my determination (one of the principles in the book) to take that test and pass it. They granted me an appeal hearing, but it wouldn't be for another five months. Still I kept going. While practicing every day on my skills for the test, I decided to take action by clearing my record. The charge that I had on file was a small charge, and the non-conviction was simply taken care of by paying a bill, which fortunately I had already paid before I started this process. The next step to get it off the record was for me to draw up a court date, and present the receipt for the bill. When I went down to get recited, they gave me a date that was way off, further than the hearing at the department of insurance. I wouldn't stand for it. I asked around to try and find a way to get the date sooner. They directed me to a room where they would know more about it. You should have seen the clerk's face when I asked for a sooner court date. Most people wanted to move it out. But they told me the only way to do it is to go to a police station, and get it recited again with a sooner date. It didn't discourage me though, I did that, got a date for the following week, and showed them the receipt. Getting my record expunged was a lot easier. All I had to do was go down to legal aid, sign papers for one of their attorneys, and show up at court when I needed to. During all of this time I was still visualizing myself (a technique I got from the book) taking and passing the test. I would study every night from the book, I would take the test on the internet once a day, which at the time I had to go to the library to do. Finally the date came where I went to the State board of Insurance to ask them to reconsider. I was very nervous when I told my story, but my determination must have shown through, because they agreed with my story. Still they made me wait for a whole month to tell me that they would let me take the test, along with a $250 fine for the trouble. Now came a new problem, where to get $250??? I found a job at a local restaurant, and tried to come up with the money, but life knocked me down and most of that money went to bills. Soon after came tax time, and I had an idea. I usually go to the same tax person every year, and we were good friends. I told him my situation, and said please just take it out of my Refund loan, but I need this money. Although I didn't have the necessary things like a checking account, he did a modified payday loan for me using HIS checking account!!! I was in there!!! Finally, nine months after I started this process, I was taking the Insurance Exam, and I passed with the highest score that anyone has ever had in the office I was in. If it weren't for me reading that book, if it weren't for the techniques I learned from Napoleon Hill, not only wouldn't I have not passed the test, I don't think I ever would have gotten the chance to take it.

callarse, it was indeed lucky you got a second chance. True, the principles are really simple. It's a wonder how many really can follow thru the principle, at least I know there are already 2 here who have the discipline. And yes, drknlvly, visualising is a good technique which I tried many times but failed :P I hope I can succeed eventually.

I like it a lot because there are so many things negatively in my environment at least (like TV news for example). I haven't read it many time just once or so, but I think it's wonderful. Do you think you could send me the workbook you have? I already have the book. I would love to have the workbook--I didn't know there was one. Thank you. Pablo

Thank you for such a great comment to the previous response. I saw it yesterday, but I didn't know how to put a response into words. I guess I need to read the book a couple more times, eh? Anyway, I can send it to you, but I have to send both, they are in a .zip file, and for some reason it messes it up and makes the e-mail too big if I send the unzipped copies. Just send me your e-mail, and I will get it out to you post haste.
