So many people buy btottled water these days, with the assumption that it is healthier to drink. I certainly don't think that bottled water is dangerous to drink, but I have yet to see any evidence that shows it is safer than tap water. If you're concerned by tap water, then you can easily filter it at home. Did you also know that, legally, bottled water can be made with municipal tap water, as long as it isn't advertised as spring water or mineral water, and a lot of the waters you find aren't these two types. I look at bottled water as great example of the power of packaging and advertisement.

Well anything encased with plastic is not exactly the best thing for you. It is actually dangerous to let your bottle sit in your car in the summer since it will get hot from the sun, making the plastic slightly soften and release harmful chemicals, so you should never drink from a bottle after leaving it in a car, even if you will refrigerate it, your water will no longer be good and you will be at higher risk for taking in chemicals that cause cancer. Even cold bottles of water have plastic chemicals in them, so it's better to just drink filtered tap water, preferably from a well because city water is not the best for you either because of the cleaning chemicals. Good clean water is not easy to find anymore since so many people rely on city water and bottled water. I am very glad that I have filtered well water, it's a lot better than other water in my opinion. I can always taste the plastic in bottled water, it is so gross.

Yes, I agree. I left out the whole area of what can leach out of the plastic. Good point. This is also an isue when it comes to using a water bottle to take water with you when you go out. Studies have also confirmed a chemical called bisphenol-A (BPA) can leach out of certain plastics including the plastic used for baby bottles and some childrens toys.

Our local water has arsenic in it, and just tastes bad! I don't know that bottled water is healthier than others, but I know in our case, it is much healthier.

Yes, there are unique situations such as yours where bottled water may make sense. I do want to mention though that there are many water filtering systems for you home that you can get that filter out arsenic, and it much cheaper than bying bottled water.

The fact is that, in the United States at least, bottled water isn't regulated or checked for purity. There are at least 30 Federal regulations on tap water and most states and municipalities have their own codes. There have been hundreds of newspaper articles and dozens of news programs exploding the myth of bottled water but still people waste their money. Now all these vitamin waters are just more nonsense. I recycled plastic milk containers and let unfiltered tap water flow into them and then I refrigerate them. I drink an average of 1 1/2 gallons a day.

I don't believe it is clean and I will not have it except that I have to. I ever worked in a chemistry factory and know chemistry pollution clearly. I don't like any foods touch chemistic materials. When I travel I will buy it because it is necessary, but I will never have it when their is plain water available.
