I am a stay at home mom my boyfriend works 12 hours a day most days and a lot on the weekends, I have always been the type to lock the house up nice and tight when I'm alone or just me and my kids. Friends will stop by sometimes and I always checkout the kitchen window (so they cant see me at the door) to make sure who it is if I dont know them I will not answer the door. I dont trust people, you hear t many things about people getting robbed like that, someone they dont know comes to the door acting like a sales person and then boom there in. I want to know if I'm just paranoid or if other people are the same way? cause when my friends see the door all locked up like that they laugh at me about it. I just feel a lot safer with the house locked up like that.

Yes I do keep the doors locked up tight when im homealone for the weekend or for the week. But sometimes I still get scared I think that a robber is going to come in the house especially if I hear some sort of noise downstairs I think someone has snuck in the house and its pretty scary but that only happens a few times and not everyday im home alone.

When I'm at home its my habit to locked up the doors tight... I'm scared if somebody I dont know will come in and maybe rob me or something... Just to be safe, I lock the all the doors... :)

that's normal. that's not paranoia... you're just being cautious. i always lock the doors too. if im not expecting a visitor, i dont open the door. i dont care who's outside. we look through the eye-thingy (i dont know what they call it).. if i dont know them, i dont answer them! that's it!

I think it depends on where you live. In some areas is safer to keep the doors locked and it others, like where I live, it's not necessary. We live in a nice suburb of a small town in nowhere, Florida and have relatives on our block and the next one plus we know just about everyone else in the community. So, there's no reason for any of us to take precautions.
