Just Received Payment from my Online Stint as Writer

I am a Filipino and it seems that online stints do not work well with us because of prejudices on international job seekers and so forth. But I applied through Craigs List and was hired. I have assignments to write 5 to 6 articles of around 500 words daily. Sometimes the keywords are easy and I have to write only about 400 words per article. It pays nicely and I have just received payment for one day worth of writing as this was the only day the got inside the pay period cutoff. I am really happy and expecting to earn more as the assignments come in daily ;O) The articles pay only about $2.25 but because I write 5 or 6 then I get around $11.15 or $13.4 daily. Besides it's a steady income and I do not have to wait to be published by a site before I earn. And by Dumaguete's (my city) standards this is twice the minimum wage. As a writer, I feel proud that my work is being paid as this brings bread to the table, so to speak ;O) How about you? Have you been paid as a writer and are you glad?

I just got my first payout from Associated Content. It was for a contest they held in July where you could earn 10 USD for submitting 5 articles. Hmm, haven't heard of Craigs List yet. I have been compiling a list of online freelance writing sites. I'll add that to my list :) The list is on my blog www.writingfulltime.blogspot.com

It's not really just for writers but there are lots of writing jobs, too. It's more of a job directory.

Doh, just realised I forgot to add the "htpp" code portion for some of the site links on my list, so they were linking to nonexistent sites *slaps forehead* I hope I was the first one to discover it :P Hmm, guess I'll add it to another list I'm working on. There are sites like Get A Freelancer that aren't strictly for writers, but that do have freelance writing gigs available. I'll just leave Craigs List on the current list for now though, as I haven't done that list yet.

I just tried to sign up to Associated Content but I always failed. Everytime i wrote to birth of date there was always a note 'required field'. Please advise what I should do ?

I just added you on myLot and I came across this discussion you started. It's great to know that you're doing well at Craig's List, writing articles. I have some questions. How do you get paid there? Is it on a per job basis? Do you write 5-6 articles for one job? I know that Craig's List is not a writing site per se, how do you locate the article writing jobs? Thanks in advance!

I just applied to one of the listings and the lady there assigned me articles. Now, I am receiving a daily assignment. When you go to Craig's list look for your city or the one nearest to you or any actually. Then when that city will load, you will see some sections and you can find "writing/editing".

Try searching in Craiglist ;O) I am not sure I can give you the exact site that's paying me because I pass through email and it's like a real employer. But craiglist has lots of jobs listed.

I just got it from craiglist. You can check my profile for other links on my website but I didn't post this particular job there because I just applied on Craigs list. Check that site and you can find jobs for indians, too. Though I can't guarantee that it will be same as mine.
