Even if they are starving, natives living in the Arctic will never eat a penguin's egg. Why not?

Penguins are viviparous. They don't lay eggs. They're also in the Antarctic, so it's a very long trip!

Because there aren't any penguins in the arctic? (Couldn't they get them shipped in?)
