I am pretty upset right now

I received a threatening letter from my ex husband's uncle today in the mail. He is making all kinds of false accusations towards me. I have never bothered him or his family since my divorce and have gone on with my life. My ex husband is still in prison and I think he put his uncle up to this. I have contacted the police and also his parole officer. I was also thinking about filing a restraining order against his uncle as well as talking to a lawyer. Has anybody else who is divorced still get harassed by their former spouses or inlaws? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Yikes! Do you have children? That is very frightening. That is the Uncle threatening with? What do the police say? I would think the best thing to do is protect yourself and children if there are any. Do you have family of your own? It can't help to get profesional legal help.

I hope that you managed to solve this problem. I think you did the right thing to involve the police since it is a serious case and it should be dealt according. I have never get harassed by my former girlfriends. I would hate that. © ronaldinu 2008

sdmoonchild I would take out a restraining order against your exes Uncle and talk to your lawyer. that would stop the Uncle from trying to make physical contact with you too.I have never been in this situation but you do have legal'recourse and you should take it too. Also you could have your police make a run up and down your street a few times every day. Also if you feel in danger from your ex I would take a restraining order out against him also.
