I can't imagine not liking to read, but I've known people who don't. Some of those who don't like to read themselves, like to be read to. Have you ever though of books on tape?

you might actually like it, it's really great. I love to read so much that when I'm driving and can't read, I just listen to a book on CD or tape. I am a true bookworm, lol.

Not me. I love to read and always have. When I was a kid and went to the library, I'd get as many books as they would allow me to get, plus a few on my mother's card too. Just this weekend, I read an entire novel (386 pages) in one day, even though I also did the laundry, cleaned, did dishes, spent time here and at another of my favorite sites, and spent a few hours eating out for dinner. When I don't have books to read, I read the cereal boxes!

I did the same thing this past weekend also, and I read all day and I also did the laundry, cleaned and dishes. But I only got about 100 pages down, and I did the chores on reading breaks and I read the whole entire day and didnt even do out to dinner, and stayed up until 2:00 am. You must be a very very fast reader. I can't speed through books, I like to take in every detail, that way I can let my mind paint the best picture of the novel I am reading.

Maybe reading is seen by you as boring because you just haven't found the right material yet! I too struggled to get through books that were given to me as part of my studies because I felt that I HAD to read them rather than chose them myself. Yet when I read some of these books later in life and on my own terms; I actually enjoyed them immensely! Keep searching and pnce you find a book that inspires you I am sure that ypu will enjoy reading! Good luck.

Sorry, I am a book-lover and avid reader, so can't relate. But maybe if you try several different genre's until you find something you really like or are interested in, that would help. I have two sisters and two brothers who NEVER read. One sister is just starting to enjoy it, reading fiction, and is in her 40s. So I think it just isn't as enjoyable to some people than others and that is that! But hope you will try different types and I hope you find something you enjoy. It is very relaxing to me!

reading is my thing. but i understand people who hate reading books. it takes time to like it. and read those that speak out your interests or personality. surely, someday you'll appreciate books the way you appreciate knowledge and life.

I am the exact opposite of you, I hate reading textbooks and schoolbooks, but I love reading novels. Maybe you just need to find a subject that interests you. Don't start off with a 500 pager but maybe something smaller, take it slow and see how you feel. It's like a good relationship, start off slow and who knows, you may end up in love.

i like to read, but i am a picky reader...a novel really has to get my attention. i like mostly classic novels, adventure stories and psychologically mentally ill stories about crazy psychos.

You're not the only person. I felt the same. The difference is that I hate books or novels that have no respect on my intellectual capability. Doctrinal books or novel is boring. But, philosophical books will always be amusing.

Reading is a patience-demanded work. Just put yourself in a quiet mind and sure you will enjoy a book. So, come on, man!
