Do you have Uterine Fibroids (Myoma)? Did you opt for an operation immediately?

I have had a check up three weeks ago with my Ob-gyne. I went to my doctor for a consultation about my irregularity of period. She advised me to have an ultra-sound. After having so, it was found out that I have a myoma. Worst is that it is bigger than my uterus. My doctor suggested for an operation. She said though that myoma is not cancerous but I still have to have it operated to avoid complications later on. I am afraid of operations. I haven't been hospitalized ever since. I don't have any pains yet in my tummy or bleeding watsover. Anybody here who has the same situation I have? I would like to get suggestions from you. Thanks.
