It was my first air travel and I was very nervous. How was your experience?

I had actually sat in a plane for the very first time last month and I was very nervous before take-off. I had heard all sort of stuff like puking and problem to the ears and stuff. But, having been in and out of the plane now, I am more confident. Only a slight sensation in my ears made my uncomfortable. All the rest was smooth except the landing though. How was your first flying experience and were you nervous before it?

I was 17 years old the first time I flew and with my father. I was a little nervous before take off but then I relaxed....until I saw a panel on the wing start to move and I thought it was falling off! My father had a good laugh at my reaction to the normal functioning of a plane's wing.

Yeah, I saw it too. I was just to the side of my window and the part keeps turning at different angles. It was really awesome. I hope you made it safe and sound with the wing fall off the plane

Yeah, one is very excited the first time but on constant exposure the excitement wears off. I have been on flight only once and I look forward to the next one, hope it comes soon.

Well I travel by air since i was a kid. And on first one, I feel so happy but quit nervous when the plane takes off and landed. But it seems to be relaxing when your traveling by plane rather than buses and ships. I really feel comfortable when I'm at the plane...

Yes, same with me. I agree, you travel like a king on a plane as compared to buses or other mode of transport. Also, the time factor is a very big deciding factor when choosing for the plane mode.

my first travel by air was to germany n i enjoyed it n it was exciting for me but onething i was really upset with many change overs n also the the travelling time . it needs 8hrs to travel to germany from india n during my first flight i have to do change overs from bangalore to mumbai to zurich to franfurt n then taxi for 1 1/2 hrs to my place n hence i was tired n exhausted. but i enjoyed travelling like the moments of take-off landing , was really nice . the to view from the plane is really superb. but i was a little sad as i had left my small 3 month old son with my mom for one week .

hi, it was really a long, long journey for you. But, it's worth the pain for your first plane travel. One can't imagine having flown with the birds (actually higher than them) being among the clouds. It's just fantastic. Thanks to the Wright Brothers for having made this possible.

Rajesh, My first air travel experience was when I was 12 years old. There is nothing much I remember in terms of all the unpleasent experiences, only the excitement. I remember that I had travelled alone so was given all the fuss by the airhostesses and the staff at the airports. I quite enjoyed it actually.

Hey alok, that's really cool . Going on your first air-travel and that too all alone. I think you were pampered and lot and your tummy filled with chocolates and toffees.

It's been so long ago since my first flight, that I don't think I remember it! I can remember later flights as a kid vaguely,so my first flight must have been flying between Glasgow and Belfast on a Viscount Aircraft.Being a kid at the time,I was probably too excited to be worried about the experience..I still enjoy being in the air,the amazing view from up there, passing through clouds and being on top of them in the clear sky above, seeing a sunset or sunrise..and have been at the controls of a light plane on a trial flight!

Wow, that's great, so you've piloted a plane by yourself! That's really great. I bet it's a different experience to fly among the clouds and also see the colour of the sky change according to the cloud cover or the sun. It's quite an experience.

Nice to hear that you still remember your first flight experience eventhough you were a child. But, flying is a nice experience and think that everyone must do it atleast once in their lives. The fact of your flying in the air gives you a high and seeing the scenic surrounding among the clouds is really refreshing.

My first ravel by air was 1998 January,i was traveling alone. The feeling is all mixed up.I was in pain leaving my daughter to be with my husband.I was never nervous or afraid about the flight-i was crying when it took off.Good thing there are other same nationals beside me,so i was comforted.I got nervous when we arrive because it took before my husband's sponsor arrive. All is well and i was fine then except that i kept complaining about out child. That is how my first travel goes.

Hi misty, your first trip was surely a mixture of both pleasant and not-so-pleasant happenings. It's obvious to get nervous, I think everybody does feel the same the first time, after all flying so high in the sky is not a joke. You're somewhere close to the clouds and a speck in the sky . Yeah, co-passengers do comfort you a lot, especially if you're alone and nervous. I happens in all places, not only in flights but everywhere.

Hey, I was as excited as any teenager on the trip. The nervousness started when I sat in the plane on my seat and just before take-off. I didn't quite know what to expect as I had heard many stories of people getting restless, feeling giddy or at times even throwing up. I must say that once in the air all of my nervousness evaporated as I didn't feel anything at all, just the humming in my ears

Even I travelled recently for the first time. I hope you get a chance to fly sometime soon and you'll post your experience here on Mylot. It was normal once the flight took-off. But anyway it's a nice experience and everybody must experience it atleast once. I hope you fly to your dream destination soon enough.
