My best advice is when you enter your description be as detailed as possible. Use the editing toolbar to customize the font color style and size...be sure to use a gallery picture, and remember alot of buyers search by lowest price first..so the lower the starting bid the more likely people will see it.

Well i sell bonsai trees and i try to place them infront of a white sheet when i take a picture to show them off also if you can place something in the pic so the viewer can see the size clearly like a ruler or coke can for example pictures can be deciveing and if you dont make sure the buyer is already aware of the size you will be facing returns or refunds i give measurments of all my products.

The one piece of advice i would give you at the moment is leave ebay well alone if your thinking of trying to run a business through it. Ebay is in a state of fluctuation and transition and as a result of this alot of sellers are leaving ebay and moving to other site, buyers are also leaving ebay because of the changes they have made to the search. If you are prepared to either enter ebay and play with the big boys and do battle for custom then you might be alright but that is going to take money and contacts to do, if you are just going to sell a few bits and bobs here and there you need to be prepared to take a hit, for instance i had a listing up that finished on sunday for a LOT of baby items of which there were over £150 worth in it 2 of the items i could have sold separate and gotten back £40 for them, the auction ended at £18, hardly anyone looked at it and hardly anyone was watching it yet other such bundles have been selling well before now, so i've had to take a huge hit with this one and just bite the bullet, and i didn't sell things separate because i had seen previous listings end well and wanted it all gone in one go. If you are seriously thinking about selling on ebay as a business you need to think long and hard about what your going to sell, you need to make yourself different in some way form your competition.

I have been selling on ebay since 2002. I have gone through many cameras. I end up taking quite a few pics sometimes until I get it right. Sometimes I move to another room, different lighting and sometimes go outside in the sunlight. There are a lot of ways to make your pics look better. You can put different colors behind the item to give it a different look. Just try different things, different cameras and find what works for you. Good Luck.
