Where is everyone?

I have been posting responses for the lst 2 hours and I don't have one single comment to any of them. Where is everybody these days? I posted 20 responses yesterday and I have not received any comments to any of them either. I feel like I am talking to no one these days, as I post my responses and don't get any feed back from any of them. This upsets me since I don;t want to be alone here and that is how I am feeling lately. Does no one read their responses to their discussons or do people just not bother commenting back because they think they are not getting paid for comments? People, we do get paid for comments according to the guidelines. So please let me know somehow, even with just a thanks, so I am not just talking to myself, that you have read my response by commenting to it. Thanks in advance for the responses and I will comment on them so that you don't feel like you are talking to yourself.

Well I give my own discussions a few hours before I go back and read them. If you replied to mine, I will get to. However we are not to just post things like "thanks", at least a year ago we were not. So if you have something that is interesting I can pick out and comment on I will, but if all I can say is thanks, I won't post a reply. But I do read all of them I get and give "+" as well for the ones that show some effort, even if they don't agree with me.

You're right about going back a few hours later and finding more responses to my discussions, like this one. I was talking about my responses to other members discussions, people don't seem to always go back and read them. It is okay though, I was just wondering if maybe a lot of the members were not around today or yesterday since no one was commenting on any of my responses to their discussions. I know not to just say a thank you, that it is against the guidelines, it was just that I used to get a lot of comments and just wondered why/if today and yesterday were different and people weren't around. I also mark all of my responses with ratings, my friend.

I try to always respond to the discussions I've started though sometimes it will take me awhile! It's just been a very busy time for me - kids are getting ready to go back to school, trying to find my hubby a new job, and my websites (now that I have 7 of them!) take up a lot more time than I have - plus of course i still have things like my mother in law to cater too :) I am sure once school starts again & the weather's not so nice people will have a lot more time for mylot and discussion posting and responding!

It looks like a lot of the members here are busy with other things. I was just wondering if that was the case today and yesterday since it seemed like no one was logged into mylot except me.

Hi chrislotz. I know how you feel sometimes. I haven't been on MyLot as regularly as I'd like recently because I've been helping my sister with a project to help her earn some extra money and it's taking longer than I had thought to get things rolling. When I do get on, I may not have time to respond to all the discussions I'm interested in, but I do try to at least answer the posts from my discussions before looking for some I can answer. Recently I ran into some of those posters you mention, that just post discussion after discussion without ever going back to do any responses. Some of their discussions left people hanging around for an answer for weeks. At first I felt bad about answering the questions from the post, but when I went back a few weeks later, still no response to the person that responded. Now, I don't feel quite so bad. If the original poster wanted a referral out of their discussion, they should at least look at their posts, but if they leave them waiting too long, someone else will try to fill the request. ps. I'l go to your profile next to see if you have more I can post to.

I have noticed recently that I haven't been getting the notices of responses after the first one, even though a whole conversation can take place. Most people just don't think to check back to see if their response got a response if they didn't get a notice.

Thanks my friend, it isn't that people aren't responding to my discussions, they are, plus I don't start very many of them. What I meant is that no one was commenting on my responses to their discussions, even when I ask them a question. So I was wondering if I was the only member that was working the site today and yesterday since I felt like I was alone. I guess people have just been busy with other things and will be back when they have more time.

If you read the rules, you're not supposed to post just to say 'thanks'. I usually add something more to it when I respond. Things are generally more quiet here on the weekends, so that may be the issue with you not seeing as much activity.

I guess it being the weekend there are less people here plus with the weather being so nice people are busy offline. I think was the weather turns colder and the kids are back in school, people will have more time to be here.

good point. it is really important that we do replies on other people's comments in our topics so that they will not feel that they are being ignored and their posts are unimportant cause no one is replying into that post. i just feel that way too. i feel bad when others don't make any replies on my comment or replies. but sometimes they do reply but i am not really happy with their reply . it feels like they just reply for the sake of replying and not really to have good discussion and not to let the discussion to keep flowing. cause i really like to have a discussion where there is an inflow of responses .

You are right and you understood my discussion, that is good. I want to continue the discussion that I responded to and it felt like I was the only one here today and yesterday. But I see that I am not and hopefully will get some comments to my responses soon.

Everyone seems to be on vacation right now, not a bad thing really, some people just seriously need time off.

Hi chris. You've been around for a long time. You should know how it works here better than me. I have been here for about 6 weeks or so. I see that some people don't respond to their discussions and when I see that I don't respond anymore. I'm still relatively new so it's taking me time to see who does what here. I don't start too many discussions, but when I do I make sure that I get back into them and respond. I guess some people just don't care.

OMG! I just had a long response typed out, and then I wanted to look at your profile. When I returned to this page, my response was gone! Holy chit!!! Oh, well, here I go again. Hey there, chris, how's it going? I am new to myLotting, and I am learning as I go. I mostly like responding to discussions because I have a hard time thinking of anything that I feel others would be interested in. I would rather not post any discussions than to post something that is of no interest to anyone else. Most of my discussions haven't gotten many responses, so there you go! LOL I have started a few discussions, and I have tried to comment on each response, but sometimes I find that I will get caught up in responding, and forget to go back in to my discussion to post comments. I do eventually get around to it, but sometimes not immediately. I hope that no one has been offended by my not commenting. I do not really get upset when I post a response and the person does not comment. I'm a laid back kind of woman, and I figure if the person doesn't comment, maybe they didn't care for my response or else they have gotten sidetracked onto something else. So, don't stress out if you don't comment on my posts. It's no biggie to me. Hang in there, and have a great day!

it sometimes happens...there are lot of discussions going on here..it's quite natural that people post or comment only on selected discussions..me too have come across those kinda situations where ma discussions have not been responded..at the same time i have felt happy on occasions where i have got so many comments too..hope you will get more responses..
