Does Myspace Ruin Relationships?

Ever met anyone scorned by the ill-fated myspace relationship jinx? I've heard it everywhere.. if you're in a relationship, don't use myspace. Left and right I'm seeing my friend's relationships fail and the reason? it's always one of them was flirting or cheating with someone else from myspace that they met. it's all so strange. I've been there-done that with the whole myspace thing and it does make me hate Myspace just a little. Does anyone else believe in this myspace jinx? If you know someone or have been affected by this feel free to comment away. Is it really even myspace or is it just that the internet has made it so easily accessible?

I have been a member of myspace long before my fiance and I were even together. I still have an account, but I'm barely on it. It hasn't seemed to affect our relationship at all. I think you need to be serious about your relationship, and be trustworthy. I think that myspace just opens up a whole new perspective on what is out there, and how easy it is to access it. I also set my profile to private so only my friends can see my info. I think that a lot of people get into trouble because they aren't secure in their relationship. SO my advice is people in a new relationship should steer away from myspace.

Agreed. The sad truth is though that one may trust their spouse and believe them to be honest and forthcoming but that's not always the way it is. I totally agree though, new relationships need to stay far far away from such sites!

I have seen it also. Relationships are not standing the test of myspace. This also applies to friendships asl well. Myspace is definately a place of cautious for realationships that are not strong.

Holy crap, is that what happened? I was in a serious relationship (as well as several other gals I met with their own boyfriends...military boyfriends) with an old friend of mine from almost 7 years ago. He's stationed in Iraq. Now, myself and two other girls were all madly in love with our soldiers but one by one each relationship started to crumble and fall. You want to know why? the men just stopped talking to us or gave us the impression they don't give a damn. Here I was blaming the military and the long distance part, but I suppose it was Myspace. *LOL* Jk *Pleiades
