Is Federer the next to Sampras? Who is the greatest of all?

I have loved and liked Sampras for years. But when he went ou i really missed him. He had some great qualities that helped him beat the greatest in the world. He can play all strokes and he had very long legs with which he almost covered the complete field, giving the opponents little to play for.
After him, I now like Federer who has such great control over the game. he has very agile legs and covers the court completely. He also can play a variety of strokes. He is not strong on one side of the court alone.
Is Federer the greatest next only to Sampras?

pistol pete still, i believe is the greatest. having achieve a feat of 14 grand slam but that record is near to its ends if federer express be back in his form. this season he was slumping and not even winning any grand slam titles, so far. he was stalled in 12 and just two more to tie pete's record. until federer could prove and surpass pete's record then surely he will rise from the top but that needs to be seen yet comes 26 august in flushing meadows. winning the US open could put him into unprecedented 5 titles in a row, not even pistol pete achieved such. he won five but not in succession.
but if these two greats in tennis era, have you seen any similarities of the two aside from winning many grand slams?

Sampras is one of the greatest players in the history of tennis.Watching him play was a treat to the eye.But I don't think one can compare the two players-Federer and Sampras.
Tennis has undergone quite a lot of change since the time Sampras left.And playing at that time is not the same as playing now.Sampras ruled men's tennis then and Federer rules it now.I feel both of them are great players of their time.
