Why are we here?

I often find myself asking this question. If we are here for a few short years, then we go to Heaven for eternity, then why are we here in the first place?

A lot of people think its to glorify god, which circles around to the fact isn't that what people do in heaven anyways?? To me i am here to learn all there is to know and when i die i wont go to a heaven but be reborn again and again til i have learned all there is to know about life, then move on to a paradise. So i dont see it as being here for only a few short years.

So you're a buddhist and you believe in reincarnation? And what is the paradise you're referring to?

Hi CliffShep 1. Who are we? We are a part of the supreme power, known as God. Science says this 'oneness' Everything is part of one energy (refer to any good books on quantum physics) 2. Why are we. To enjoy and praise the potentiallity of that supreme power. 3. Why do we leave for heaven/hell/paradise? Once we complete a lesson, we get a break before we are ready to start another lesson. That's why we need to make several journeys. 4. What is the purpose: In different forms of life we appretiate that supreme energy. But To acquire knowledge about that energy is the ultimate goal of life. Once we acquire that knowledge we merge with that supreme energy like rivers merge with oceans.

I'm not sure. But I trust in God. I believe He has a reason for everything (no one knows for sure what are those reasons). God is God and He can do whatever He wants because he has the power to do that (we have no right to complain since we don't have that kind of power; all we have is a freewill to choose the kind of life we want for ourselves). I won't bother much about these things. I'll just live my life as God wants to. When I die, perhaps that's the time He'll reveal to me all His reasons.
