*laughs* I need a dose of sweetness, so drown me! Where did you meet the love of your lifetime? Hope it doesn't bring tears but only smile on your face! *winks*

I've found my Dimsum in class. The end of the semester was in a few months when one day I was with my friends sitting up front near the professor's table and I suddenly had the urge to look back. When I did I saw someone smiling at me so I smiled back. From that moment I just knew I had to know her. I waited for the professor to take our attendance and since we were arranged alphabetically I just had to wait for her name to be called. After a few more days I got the chance to exchange emails with her and after a few weeks of being good online friends I got the courage to talk to her in person. The end of the semester came unexpectedly fast and then came the next semester. I was happy that I have some of my classes where in she was a classmate of mine again. We became really close on that semester and that is when I asked her if I could court her. Via text message (SMS) I asked her how should a guy court a girl he likes. She said that for her the best way was to send in an application form just like in applying for a job. A week passed and I submitted mine. I filled it up with all the usual information including character references and testimonials. LOL It was a year after I did that when I finally got my oral interview with her (so I guess I courted her for a year) and to this point in time I'm happy and proud of going through all of it. We have been together for 2 years now (I know we are still at the beginning stage) and we are still growing strong.

I love your story. When I was being "courted" as we used to call it, whenever some fellow popped the question, I would give him a written test to pass. Most of them didn't. This is the first time I've ever heard of somebody doing a similar thing. We have been together 40-odd years. I predict you will too.

I met my boyfriend online. He sent me a message via myspace saying something like "I like what you said on your profile and the song you picked. You seem like a cool person to chat with. You can check out my profile and decide if you would like to start a friendship." It was because of his message that I decided to talk to him and we talked for two weeks. Then we decided to met within a months time to go to a play together. But two weeks before our meeting date, he asked me out for coffee a few days after Valentine's Day (technically he asked me on Valentine's Day). And when we met it was love at first sight. We've been together since: it's been six months of pure happiness.

We actually met through my ex! lol. I hate when people ask how we met, it makes for a very akward LOOOOOONG story. haha. but the short version is, I was with my ex, they were friends and me and my current honey became very very good friends. He became like a best friend I could talk to, i was going through hard times. My ex thought I was cheating(which I wasn't) he actually made me stop talking to him for 3 months. finally I missed talking to him so much, i stood up for myself. My ex had become abusive(mostly mentally) and I was fed up. I finally left him. Not long after I relized the person I should have been with all along was right in front of my face. That was almost 3 years ago! We've been together every since.

We met at a factory where we both had summer jobs to earn money for college. He baked a cake (it was awful!) to present me on my last day there and gave me an envelope with a letter in it. The letter showed that he had gone around to all the workers there and taken a collection for money to give this other guy who worked there to spend on a "date" with me as this other fellow was enrolled in the same college as me. Then future hubby was enrolled in a different college several hundred miles away. So I told invited then future hubby to my home for dinner and baked him a pizza. That was back before they had pizza places everywhere. OK, I didn't have time to make it from scratch, so it was a Chef-Boyardee like in this link: http://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=6b1562cc0f3217db364361fe9c415259&action=dlattach;topic=2106.0;attach=2742;image He liked it. After that we went off to different places and did different things, but then several years later we both moved to California and the rest is history. By the way, the guy who was supposed to use the money to show me a good time later pocketed the cash and ended up being possibly the dullest and cheapest date I ever had.

Volunteering We both volunteered to help out young people at the same place. That was nice. I always recommend that people volunteer somewhere. What was nice was that everyone has a background check where we volunteered so we new the other person had never been arrested for rape, abuse, or murder or even theft. Really needed now adays. Anyway, we kept talking and we started going to different events together and fell in love.
