Do you have sun burns when you go to sea?

Well, whenever we go to sea to have some fun, I just never get out of the water and it just causes very heavy sun burns on my skin and I just can't get in normal conditions in a few days... Do you also experience the same thing when you go to sea? Annd, what would be the best thing to cure that?

I get sunburned when I am swimming in any water, pool or lake. I have very fair skin. Water doesn't filter light out and I think it actually makes it easier to get burned. If I am on the beach, I don't get burned as bad as when swimming. When you are swimming you don't feel you skin is getting hot to get out of the heat. On the beach you can feel it and you know to get to shade. I would advise you to use the strongest, most waterproof sun blocker that you can get. If you do get burned really bad, use vinigar to pull the sting of the burn out. If you get blistered you can get sun poisoning and that can make you really sick, so go see a doctor if you blister. Becareful as you have fun.
