Silly question?

I live in Florida and right now we are all getting ready for tropical storm Fay as it may be a hurricane when it gets here on Tues./Wed.
So being a good little storm watcher I have been reading nearly everything I see on the storm to stay updated including stories on any damage it has already done. It was in one of these storied that I found an unusual picture and I have a silly little question about it.
It's from my AOL news and the caption reads"Tropical Storm Fay was barreling toward Cuba Sunday after drenching Haiti and the Dominican Republic and killing four people. Above, a man seeks help after a tree crashed onto his vehicle in Higuey, Dominican Republic, on Friday."
What I want to know is where was this poor soul going in his under pants? Did the storm really catch him so off guard that he didn't have time to put some clothes on?
This may sound mean to some of you and I'm sorry if it does, but come on. Hurricanes are pretty slow moving we've been hearing about this one for a few days now. What happened to this poor guy and why would they post the pic with out at least an explanation regarding his lack of clothes?
Does anyone else think that these are valid questions or am I really just that weird?

I don't know I would have to laugh about that. I don't know how you can live where there are hurricans. I'll take my tornados any day, mainly because I live in the city and the tornados break up before they hit the city lol. Is this your first major storm?

Well normally there is good warning with tornados, around here (Ohio) we can watch the storms move in. Of course we don't get days to plan for them but an hour or two, and when the sirens go off we still head for the basement even though we are in the city, I would rather be safe than sorry lol. I couldn't live without power, I would lose everything in my deep freezers and cry lol. I hope that Fay turns into just a rain storm for you and your state.

Lets hope but it doesn't look good for us. In fact it looks to be headed for us. I've been packing my deep freezer with ziplocs full of ice. This will help keep it cold in there and as it melts it provides nice cold clean drinking water. We have all of the battery operated fans ready and will be putting the plants inside today. Keep your fingers crossed.

Oh goodness no. We had 4 back to back on year. That was rough every time we got our power back here comes another storm. We almost left the state after that but all of my family that I talk to and all of my hubby's family is here so we stick it out. They can be a real pain but at least we have warning that they are coming. Tornadoes terrify me because they just pop up, those and earthquakes to me are the stuff nightmares are made of. I hate surprises.

Hahaha! Maybe they dress a LOT more casually than we do!
I've heard of getting your block knocked off and jumping out of your socks but NEVER anything about pants!
He may have been taking a nap in just his underpants when he heard the crash and was so upset he didn't realize he didn't have his pants on. Was he driving when his car was crashed into? Maybe he just jumped into his car to pick up someone and bring them to his home and he didn't expect to get caught like that!
I think I'd want to die if I got caught with my pants down... err... off; especially on camera!!!
It may be that they are simply a lot more casual than we are, but geesh, if you are wearing underpants then you should also know that, generally, outer pants go over top of them!
You're probably just that weird (I know I am!
) but you DO have very valid questions!
Yeah, I'd want more of an explanation, too. The writers of that article should have said something about it, even if it was in the form of a joke!

Oh, your picture didn't show up, above. Maybe because it's copyrighted? Maybe AOL has exclusive rights to it? Maybe it's in the form of .bmp? All I know is that I don't see the photo. PLEASE tell me I'm not losing my mind!

Nah, apparently you are not a dork. It's just not showing up. Maybe it's my computer? Nah, that's just paranoia. For some reason, myLot doesn't want that picture here! Weird.

Oh I would ask the same question too.
Sometimes when I look at a picture or read an article I have certain question about why the person is in the condition they are in the first place.
I hope everybody is safe and you have stock up on water- is that what you do? I saw in the news that some are doing that.

hi free...the underpants thing. you know once we were driving down the road and a car was stuck in front of a house. a man came out of the house in his underpants to help push the car. i think that some guys just don't care and that we should be glad that they were at least wearing their underpants. because some don't.

I can see your point. You would think that he would have had time to get dressed sense it takes the storm a long time to move.
So let me guess. His pants were very heavy from being wet so he removed them. So that he would be able to move around faster...
He was asleep and ran out the door before he could get dressed.. hnmmmm
i really dont know just guessing.
