Anyone who left, who wants to go back?

I know when I was in high school, most everyone wanted out of Rye. I personally loved it there, even if there wasn't a lot to do as a teen. I left when I got married, and if things were different, I'd go back in a heartbeat. I'm curious if anyone else who left decided that they'd rather be in Rye?

I've never been to Rye, but I think there is something about everyone's home town that makes it almost magical. I know I could never leave my home town. I want to sometimes, because it's so small and lacking oppurtunity, but I know I could never leave. I love it here.

Small and lacking opportunity... that was Rye in a nutshell. My graduating class was 25! And I think that we were the largest at the time. There's a lot about Rye that I miss, living in a large city. There, everyone was friendly. Here, everyone ignores you as best they can. There, you knew your neighbors, and their neighbors, and the people on the other side of the hill. Here, no one seems to want to know their neighbors. There, rush hour was 3 cars on the road at the same time, or a herd of cows crossing. Here... rush hour is stand still traffic with more cars than I care to think about and honking horns and accidents. Sometimes, the magic of the hometown is more than just some strange unnameable thing. Sometimes, it's the spark of humanity and the milk of human kindness. :)
