OK I am so mad. for the last 2-3 years I have coached my daughters soccer team. It is was a county thing for all kids to join up and different parents like me would coach 6-8 kids . Then we would play games against the other teams. In the whole county there was at least 10 teams for my daughters age group. Well I'm no longer a coach because the soccer association has terned it from teams into a league. What a league is it is just drills and the boys practice with the girls all age groups, from age 5 to age 14. I say this is not fair. for every one. There is only one major coach for over 200 kids and some teenage soccer players that play on the high school team. I went to the first and second drill and I'm not taking my daughter back. what for her to be ignored like some of the other kids. Cause he was mostly coaching and training the rich kids. A little girl that I coached last year got hit in the head by a soccer ball because she was standing next to a boy. How can you excpect any girl who has always played with only girls be with boys who are harder and rougher. what would you do? How would you feel?

It's not right what has been done there. But you can do something about it by getting together with some of the other parents and forming your own teams. The fields are county property and they have to give you equal time on them for training and matches. Put your foot down.

That is absolutely horrible- and the thing is it is probably costing the town more to hire this trainer. I believe (and I played soccer competitively) that every single player needs individual attention, no matter how old or skill level. I would especially feel bad if I no longer had the chance to coach my child, and there is no doubt in my mind that I would take my child out of the training. I believe you are making the right choice and good luck with whatever you decide to do!
