Sorry but I can't stand hot dogs. The hot dog sausages taste like they have been made of rubber with lots of artificial flavours and fat added! I don't mind have ordinary sausauges in a bun, if that counts as a hot dog. In which case I lace them with tomato ketchup and English mustard, the same as I would have on a burger.

That absolutely counts! The basic hotdog sausage (the ones made with th combo: pork, beef, and chicken), can be a challenge for some people to accept. Some companies have been known to go cheap on the ingredients. For the basic dog you really should bake them or BBQ them, no boiling those. Try the all Beef ones, the ones that look like they are fat already prior to cooking. Also any smoked sausage works very well in a bun.

Do you melt the cheese on it before you eat the dog?

You know I used to eat a hotdog at the arcade. The vendor served it foot long and only with cheeze and sliced jalapenos. That dog was Crazy Awesome ! ! ! ! Now I live 3000 miles away from the vendor.

I usually like my hot dogs with ketchup only but once in a while I will add some chili and a little bit of onions on them.

You should maybe try mayo with it. I know in other sandwhich type dishes ketchup and mayo work very well. Try it out, live a little with us here.

Swimming in ketchup. Oh I know, rather boring, no? Well, when ketchup covers all parts of your hotdog inside your bun...I kinda consider that more than enough, lmao.

Hey mustard is a must for me. If I can't find anything else, I make sure there is mustard. Even if I have to take a trip to the store to get it.

Haha, call me the odd one out but mustard ain't going on my hot dog sorry! I'm just generally not the biggest fan of mustard. Not saying I won't eat it, I would but not in significant or large quantities. Now to answer your question I like my hotdogs with ketchup, diced onions, mayo, relish and jalapeƱo peppers which are slice in O's and soaked in a sort of brine, oh so yummy! OR. Ketchup, grated cabbage and carrots, onions, mayo and pepper/hot sauce. Yup, good stuff!

Not odd at all, just different from me. From time to time, I do find myself putting a little sauerkraut on the ole dog.

I like mine on a bun (or bread) with ketchup and mustard at the very least. If I can put on relish I will. I have never heard of putting mayo on before but sounds interesting. The best hot dog I have ever had (not made at home of course) had ketchup, mustard, onions and Bacon!! MMmmm, so good!

Hot dogs are kinda hard to hate. Very few people hate them. Funny, even those that hate them only hate them because of what they think is in a hot dog. They taste good.. lol .. even cold.

I don't like hot dog buns - too much bread - but I eat them on plain bread. I put mustard, cheese and horse radish on them. That sounds good right now!

Yea, some hot dog buns can make it difficult to enjoy the dog. Plain bread is fixes this, just turn that gog diagonal and have at it. Although most plain bread tends to break or get soaked from the ingredients to fast.

I haven't had a hot dog in ages. I had a not dog (soy) about a year ago. I like mustard, onions, and dill relish (not the sweet stuff). I used to like chili cheese dogs from DQ when I was growing up...before I became vegetarian and started eating a lot healthier. :-)

It depends on my mood. Since I have been pregnant I like relish (I never use to, probably the pickles.) Sometimes I make a chicago style and put ketchup, mustard, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, (BUT NO ONIONS). Or do the chili dog thing. It is always different.

My favorites are chili, onions and mustard. If I dont' make chili, I usually just ust catsup. I never have tried slaw on mine, but am up to try anything at least once. Next time I make them, I will try that. Thanks for the tip !

Believe it or not the first time I had slaw on it was an accident. We had a BBQ and someone brought over some slaw and it got on the bottom of my bun. The bread was soaking up the juice. At first I thought it was ruined, but when I bit the dog, I was in heaven. Sometimes the best things can be from an accident.

Sweet, I love grilled dogs. Hey, what type of dog do you cook? Regular, beef, or smoked sausage? Notice I listed them by my flavor choice worse to best on a grill, lol.
