what's in these words that it's hard for us to give it a try?
all i'm asking is a chance to prove it.
why are we so afraid to take a risk?
was it because of the previous hurt that we felt?
was it because it created a scar at at one time in our life?
if you believe in something good
then give it a chance to happen.
some things are found only when they are lost
and we have met better persons because of that scars.
life can be very lonely when somewhere
along the way, one loses hope.
no matter how tough the situations seem to be,
no frail hope if you keep believing.
have faith and see them for they are just there.
i may not know what lies ahead
but i do have the will worth taking that risk.

What a lovely poem to open a discussion with!! I think it can be hard to takes risks when we have been hurt in the past, we don't want to make the same mistakes twice and try to protect ourselves but sometimes you just have to take the risk and give it a chance otherwise we will end up alone and miserable! Nothing ventured nothing gained and all that! Anything that is worth having takes a bit of effort to get I think. Perhaps a lot of us need to learn to give new things and people a chance and leave ourselves open to new experience! I always say you regret the things you don't do, not the things you do!! Nice to see you around againm have you been away!? xxx

indeed very hard but it is worth knowing it and take that risk instead of just wondering if it fails again or not. although we just can't blame others for not taking that step and some would take time to heal before getting our from their cave.
you always have sensible thoughts and words, now i truly understand why people would want to cry on your shoulders and not the others they know. (i saw your other post but hasn't been there to make a response, i'll be there in a sec.)
i'm only away last night, i had to rest from tight schedules of work and forums. i thought you're the one who's gone, coz i haven't heard anything from you or see your post/s. if you have time visiting triond, there are additional articles that are already published. hope to see you there. lol

that i thought so.. when you got time in triond try checking first the short story (story to tell) i had and lem'me know if you cried or not.. hahaha lol
i guess being in the medical field caught up most of your time now, huh.. i can relate on that matter. i was there before and been there many times and still am doing it and no plans of moving out.

Aw thanks sirrob! I have been on here a bit less in the last week or so, I've been really busy at work too! I haven't been on triond for a bit but next time I'm on there I'll check it out, I'm sure it's great! xxxx

A nice and touching poem. :) Indeed its true one should give chances. Imagine a world with people not giving chances to each other. I bet its a chaotic, gloomy and very depressing world, and I wouldn't want to live there (besides I bet it won't last long). Indeed there are people among us that prefer not to take chances on anything, but taking chances gives us experience which in turn develops us to become better individuals. Thank you for this poem.

you are absolutely right.!! oftentimes we are just too hesitant to make the first step specially when we came from a disastrous event/s in our life. i would say, cautious in the second time around.

Yes, giving a chance for something could be worth the chance. It could lead us into something truly wonderful and amazing. If we close our doors to that chance then we could probably be in the dark side waiting for something that may never come. Life can be so boring without risk and without taking chances. As you notice in fairy tales, the prince must accomplish some task where he has to kill a dragon, or do some task. Imagine if in the story the prince would just ask his followers to do it for him. Would the story be great? Of course not, it would be a boring one and no one would be thrilled to read the story. In my own opinion, life is taking chances and taking risk, without giving yourself a chance to face those things life would be boring and in the end, you could not probably say that you will be living happily ever after. So take a chance and live the fairy tale! That way, you and the princes will live happily ever after.....

truly indeed, but sometimes (if not often times) it is just hard to come by.
