How to travel cheaply

Consider which are the cheaper countries to travel in like Thailand, Vietnam, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. Australia and New Zealand have backpacker hostels so they are good value once you get there. Cheap accommodation might be a youth hostel, a backpackers hostel, a beach hut or a guest house. Eating where local people tend to go is economical. Traveling by local bus or train can be quite cheap. If you are a student get an International Student Identity card if you are a poor student. Become a member of the Youth Hostel Association in your country. Get travel guide books from your local library to check how affordable a country is. Which country would you like to go to and why? How would you get there? What sort of accommodation would you stay in? Do you like exploring? If so what would you like to see?

here in sa, everything will be cheap for you. backpacker lodges are scarce but those that are here are very nice. it costs about R100 per night per room. thats about 7 pounds or 14 dollars. you can get much better accommodation for about 200 rand per night. the most expensive is the transport. i would love to visit europe. i love history.

South Africa seems excellent value. Cape Town is on my travel wish list. I think that the backpacker lodges sound really cheap. I hope that you visit Europe one day. When you go there you will find that every country has an interesting history and some great architecture.

there is a site that i always consult for travel plans. safarinow.co.za you can work it out by dividing the rands by 7 for dollars and 14 for pounds and 11 for euros at the current exchange rate. i shall try to find the other site as well.

I was born at Vietnam. My parent brought me to Malaysia across Thailand, and studied at Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for eight years. So I have been at Vietnam, Thailand and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I wish I can visit Europe one day, travel from country to another. I like to do it alone, and stay anywhere I can, do anything I want... but maybe it is only happen in my dream...

It is excellent that you were born in Vietnam then traveled to both Malaysia and Thailand. It must have been fascinating to study in Saudi Arabia for eight years and you must have studied to a high standard. I hope that you visit Europe one day. Croatia is my favorite country in Europe because of the stunning city of Dubrovnik and the pretty islands. I stayed in youth hostels, private rooms and did some camping there as well. Good luck in the future for your dreams to come true.

I would love to travel to Italy--the whole of Italy. My favorite parts, however, would be the seaside villages. Traveling in a really small car would be cute and fun and perhaps efficient. If I had a biking buddy I would ride a bike everywhere. Hopefully I would know where to go. Or how 'bout a horse drawn carriage. Maybe not. Thanks for the info, maximax. I think I might write an article on this.

I think travel in countries like Vietnam,Thai will be cheaper. Given all the assumption on your post,I wish I could manage to travel in UK & Swissland.I will check the bargin flight tickets from some middle-size airplane companies but with a sound reputation in the flight record,as in China, like Airasia,China eastern, ect and I would like to find someone in my destination ,say from some located student forums,to ask the cheap or free school accomodations, even,I may find someone to fetch me at the airport at lowest price. I was once tried the above in my domestic travelling,it really good~~

it would help if you told me how much you would be able to spend when travelling here. tour agencies usually overcharge foreigners. i know of so many places thats quite cheap but still have luxuries. and timing is everything. we have 4 high seasons. the best time for travel is february.

I prefer Cox's Bazar of my country, one of the seven wonders of world. Surely, very cheap for me to visit. Only Usd$20 is enough to visit and come back home. Thanks
