The DNC will be held in Denver, CO a week from now. According to a lot of people, I am beating a dead horse by posting on this subject, but the fact is some websites are speculating that half of the House Democrats may vote for Hillary in the roll call vote. Hillary has publicly said she is voting for Obama, but what do you think will happen if there is an upset at the Convention?

I predict a riot somewhere if Obama does not get the nomination.

It is likely there would be one. Security is very high around the convention site and they have special facilities on standby to house the offenders because there are so demonstrators will be there.

There is even an organization that has formed to recreate 68, that is, the Chicago riots at the 1968 democratic convention.

If Hillary walks out with the nominee Denver will burn. What happen in Chicago bar in 68 will look like a bunch of out of control kindergartners. Oh the humanity, but it would make good news. Back in 68 there was not 24 hour news coverage, now we do. Every news channel is hoping that Hillary get the nomination just so they will have something to cover every minute of the day.

If all those news stations were to get burned down during the rioting, maybe they'd change their minds about thinking it a great story. It is a scary thought to imagine that kind of response across the USA. I hope the DNC will be a nice calm affair and be settled without incident.

It's pretty interesting to see that they really don't even agree or get along with each other isn't it?

There has been an under-current of animosity between Hillary and Obama from the outset. Hillary is saying she plans to vote for Obama, but she is not saying it convincingly. Her expression of support is tempered with a begrudging attitude when she says it,( has anyone else noticed this)even though she is smiling. It's hard to tell what will happen if these two butt heads at the DNC.

Well Obama will be disappointed and anything that disappoints him makes me happy. I cannot see what will happen then? Maybe they will have to toss a coin. But I guess it shows that Obama is not the best choice of the leader of their party. He is way too far to the left even for Democrats. That is why I hope for the Republicans to win. Then there will be some balance a little to the right. I think people are letting their emotions run away with them, taken in by Obama's color and his mesmarizing.

I agree with you there are a lot of different factors at work in what is motivating many people to want Obama for president. Many of those factors are not related to electing the candidate who is most qualified or would do what is best for the USA. The polls have never given Obama a very significant lead over McCain, and I am thinking that in the end reason will win out with most voters and they will choose McCain as the best choice.

I would think that would be a travesty. I think if Hillary somehow were to end up with the nomination she would refuse to accept it and offer to serve as Obama;s vp.
I would think that would be an example of politicial dirty tricks and most Obama
supporters would be furious about it. I hope something like that does not happen.

Or, maybe Hillary will feel obligated to those who have supported her all this time, accept the nomination and offer the vp to Obama (or not). Nothing is settled at this point so it will be interesting. I agree with rose that we should "hope for the best but expect the worst."
