Hi everyone, I'm wondering.. why does firefox uses so much memory? I noted recently that in a normal session the usage climbs up to 200MB and greater... could themes or extensions reduce the usage? or is a firefox issue? What do you pleople think?

Have you checked your extensions. One of these softwares could be using up a lot of memory. Firefox 3 also uses less memory.

I've tried to disable the extensions but still I have memory usage high.. these extensions are installed: Rikaichan Japanese Translator, DownloadthemAll, Orkut Toolbar, DownloadHelper, IE Tab Bar and wmlbrowser.. none of them seems to increase memory because I started firefox in safe mode without one of them..
