Most wives love to cook but I know of a lady friend who doesn't like to cook. she just buy ready made food and very lazy to learn how to cook. For me? I really love to cook. My hubby seldom cooks at home. He would wait for me even if he is hungry because he loves my cooking. I know of some husbands too who are good cook but mostly the wives are better. What about you? do you love to cook? I think it is the ladies' responsibility to learn how to cook. would you agree?

Hi....yes I totally agree with you that ladies should learn how to cook. Even if there is not interest in cooking ladies must at least know how to cook the simplest of the simplest meal like fry an egg, cook rice, steam pork or fish. To know how to cook is an asset and it definitely saves alot of money as we all can't eat out all the time. Before I got married I did not cook and did not know how to cook lunches and dinners. But after I got married I asked around, checked the internet and got tips from my mum, grandma, aunties. And now I can cook many many dishes. Extravagant restaurant dishes I can't do that but I can cook simple home meals. I love to cook for my husband to eat cos he enjoys it and I lvoe to watch him eat as well. It's like hey...someone appreciates your cooking. Its nice. But I don't cook all the time as there are also busy days. Those days my husband and I would take away from the rice shop dishes and rice and we would eat it at home. And its great that your husband loves your cooking. This is what my husband says : Nothing beats home cook food!!!

You are exactly right!! ladies should learn how to cook. I also learn to cook a lot when I got married. and now I am still the cook in the house.

It shouldn't the ladies' responsibility to learn to cook, anyone who wants to eat should know how to cook. I do not particularly like to cook, but I do it because I need to eat. My husband, is understanding to that, if he feels he needs to eat and I have not cooked anything, he will attempt to fix something for himself. Now, sometimes I get the urge to cook, but it is not one of the things I like to do.

well, right!!! cooking is a talent too. There are people who are really inclined to it and they will love to do it and learn more about new techniques while others just don;t care about new techniques but just love to eat whatever it is put in the table. My sister is like that too.

I don't think it's fair that the woman automatically has to be the one to do the cooking - that's something that should be up to the couple. I hate cooking. I'm not lazy; I'm just simply not domestic at all. Most of the stuff I make is either very simple, frozen, or practically ready-made - and my husband doesn't really mind because he knows that I hate being in the kitchen at all. He likes to cook, but doesn't have the time. If the husband or the wife has a problem with the meals being made, maybe THEY should be the one to do the cooking. I have a lot to do in the house without adding fancy meals to the list, so my husband appreciates that at least I'm making something. It's not right to expect the woman to do all this fancy cooking - as long as meals are being provided and they are reasonably healthy, it shouldn't matter whether it's made from scratch or out of a box.

well, you have point too. You are right!! women could not be forced to do the things they don't like. It doesn't matter as long as nobody in the house complains about it.

hi celestial! i am not a kitchen buddy. ^__^;; before i used to like cooking. i had the patience for it. but ever since i started working i became lazy to do things at the kitchen. ^__^;; i seldom work at the kitchen now. i RARELY work at the kitchen now. LOL i think in this modern day, cooking is not confined to women anymore. it is not solely the responsibility of women to prepare the food. we just think it is because that has been the tradition.
