I like going to flea-markets and yard sales. Does that make me cheap or triffty. If I have to go to a wedding os like that I'm not going to pay $300 or $400 for a suit when I can go to the Goodwill And get one that looks new for $25, are you?I buy all kinds of stuff a yard sales close, tools, stoves, washers & driers, boats, and any thing else I can find that I want. If I have to have something I will go to the store and buy it, but If I can get cheaper I will. So call me cheap, I work hard for my money. How about you?

I don't think that's cheap... I think it's very smart and resourceful. Why waste your money on something brand new if you can get something as nice (if a bit used) for much cheaper? I try to do the same thing, myself. I buy books used when I can, head to thrift stores and other discount places for clothes, and so on. Every penny you save you can spend later on something you really want or need!

My friends all call me weird and crazy because I say i'll never pay over $10 for a pair of jeans, I just go to the goodwill, and I can find some really good name brands in there too!! They say it's not worth the hassle and that $40 isn't really that much money, and I call them spoiled rich kids, HAHA! I am ALL for being frugal, and I will doa lot of stuff to save money!

Everyone needs to be a little Thrify - Doesn't make you cheap when you want to save money
No you aren't cheap.Prices going up all the time on food and stuff now days. We do the same here. Now when it comes to clothes I like to check the goodwills and places like that for denim dresses because they are so hard to find in stores now days. I bought this awesome outfit at k-mart for $7.00 it was on clearance for winter but the thing is it was not winter fabric was to cute to pass up. But when we want something we don't really need but want we will look like you do doesn't make us cheap makes us smart...lol and thrifty. I really like doing it for the hunt.

I do not think in anyway you are cheap. You are frugal and to me that is way better than paying to much for things. I love finding a good bargain it is like a high for me. When I come out of the store with things that saved me money I am running around full of life and energy. There is no feeling in the world like it. My wedding, honeymoon, reception, and clothes all cost me under 1500.00. We got married at a B&B they took care of everything. I got mine and my daughters dresses for less than 50.00 off eBay. My husband and boys clothes is what cost us the most because they had to have everything new. Why spend a fortune to get married or go to a wedding? It last one day and then you never use the stuff again. Cheap sometimes is the best way to go. I love a good bargain and hunting for them is half the fun. Happy hunting

There more now but you used to could get hot-dogs 3 for a $1 around here. At lunch time me and my friend would go by the store ans get something to eat. He would get 3 hot-dogs ans a bag of chips, I'd get 1 hot-dog and a bag of chips. He always said why don't you get 3 there only a dollar. then he eat 2, ask me if I wanted the other one. I think 1 was 0.45, so I ate the same thing he did for half the price. He said you are so cheap. Cheap or smart he was buying half my lunch. LOL

can I do you one better? what about freecycle? You get things for free, and well.. the only thing you might waste is gas, and that's only if it's not what you thought it would be. It's a .org site, so freecycle.org see if there's one in your area. Even if your area is small, check, I thought mine wouldn't have one, but we do... and our county is small... If there's not one, well then start one... Oh and about being cheap? neh... your being wise!

No, you're just being practical. If I can do the same, I'd do. you might ask why not?, coz I don't have time, poor me, I live near shopping malls, and I don't have time, going on flea markets and yard sales, so I always buy stuff in the mall, and then, when I get the chance to drop by cheap markets, I'd regret and wished I didn't buy them. My mom introduce me to buy second hand products, though it doesn't look that pleasing, at least I can still use them and sure about the quality. Good job there buddy!see ya around!

In no way are you cheap! This makes you wise! If I don't see a nice dress for a wedding at Goodwill or Salavation army, I'll purchase one at a nice store and return it after the wedding. I'm bad. LOL!

I am a little thrifty but not that much. I will buy something I want everyday and found some good cooking stuff at a thrift store, but when I am in a wedding or a special occasion, I go to a regular store. Actually I am a large petite, and it is hard to find my size at a regular store, let alone a thrift store. One time I needed a blouse for our Spring concert and I looked over and over for a blouse that would fit, was not in white, and there was this mauve blouse but it was more a shirt and it was the only thing that fit. Luckily a friend of mine had given me a black blouse and even though it was a little large, I wore that. I do buy stuff on sale though. It is seldom that I have ever paid the full price for anything. I know how to find a bargain. In fact I got a new dress and a new part of shorts at thirty percent off the price plus the twenty five percent discount taken off of that. So I saved quite a chunk of change on that one.

I use free cycle, goodwill, other bargain/cheap places I would rather have more clothes than just buy only one pair of vanity jeans at $30 I can get them for $3 at goodwill. I am cheap cheap cheap

No definitely not, you're just being practical Just be careful though with some products that are cheap but of inferior quality because in the long run you might spend more because of the poor quality of the product. I'm talking about electronics etc.

I'd say you're very smart and practical and you are doing the right thing. It is always good not to live beyond our means because ultimately, we would be punishing ourselves if we do. It is common to love discounts and freebies. These days especially, it is wise to save for the rainy season. I also go to flea markets for cheap finds.Besides, clothes are up to the person wearing them. The most expensive wrap wouldn't look good on someone who does not exude confidence wearing it.We toil for money. It's only proper that we spend it in whatever way we deem it necessary.

Of course you're not. I believe you are just practical and economical. We actually go together about things like that. If you can browse my posted dicussion I have there "Fashion for less". I too loves to go to bargain/sales stuff because why will i buy expensive items when i can get them at less? In that case I can save though.

Actually I commend you. I think with how expensive things are lately it's good to be frugal. There is nothing wrong with wanting to save a little money. My sister and I went to a thrift store the other day and she bought a Tommy Hilfiger belt for a dollar! I couldn't believe it. More and more people do not take the extra time to take a look at what is cheaper and how they can save money. I think they feel that their time is more important than how much they are spending on a certain item. Which to me is true in a way, but if you really want to get the most for your money...you'll go the extra mile. I also work hard for my money and I'm not about to just hand it over when I can get more for my money elsewhere. So no...you're not cheap. You're smart.

i dont think you are cheap, i do the same think about it frankly you work hard for your money on a website like mylot and then you go and use the whole amount on some suit? besides its not the price tag that matters but the quality of the clothing and how it looks on you, after all which wedding have you gone to and the attendants were wearing the price tags, am yet to see one

No, for me that is just being practical. With the hard times these days whatever country you're in, the economy is suffering therefor people suffer too.. I love going to bargains and sales. In fact, I wait for the nearby malls to have their 3 days sale. I know that malls mark up their prices double the wholesale price, so why would I buy something that has a very impractical price.. Whenever there is a garage sale in my village, i go there and see if there is anything useful that i can buy..Almost always i find something. I even see some very rich people buying from garage sales. They have all these money but they think wisely..Why buy something very expensive if one can get it second hand maybe but cheap and still in good condition? They too are just being practical..

No way, your not at all cheap! I do that all the time, I love going to garage sales and SAVING MONEY! Plus... one man's junk is another man's treasure... :) Plus I have kids and they have alot of clothes at some of the sales that look like they were never worn and my kids don't have a problem with that as long as it looks good and it fits.... I work hard for my money too and when I make it stretch then that a big FAT PLUS!
