Price of Chocolate going up as well!!

It's a sign of the times.
And the times are tough!
Hershey's is raising prices on all their products.
By a lot!
The cost of your chocolate Kisses and other such items will be 10% higher in the near future.
"Commodity costs have been volatile over the last several years and continue to remain at levels that are well above historical averages," said David J. West, president and chief executive of Hershey's. "Market prices for ingredients such as cocoa, corn sweeteners, sugar and peanuts are up 20% to 45% since the beginning of the year."
Too bad. I happen to like Hershey's. Hope M&M's and my all time favorite Twix won't follow suit.

mimico - hi. please, say it isn't so. Not chocolate prices going up too! This is indeed a cruel world for us chocoholics. I love Hershey kisses. In fact, one year, I ate nothing but hand fulls of Hershey kisses for a week. I lost some weight, but I didn't even notice.
One day, I went to school to help design the set for my daughter's high school play. Her drama teacher took one look at me and asked what had happened? Wasn't I eating?
sure, I said, Hershey Kisses. 'Have you ever heard of malnutrition?" she asked me.
I don't buy the bags of kisses anymore, unless someone else will eat them too. Because I will eat the whole bag. Isn't that gross?

It's been a long time since the prices of chocolate bothered me; I just stopped looking at chocolates when I could not afford them anymore. These days, the only time I get to enjoy the taste of chocolate is when a member of the family arrived from the United States bringing the best "pasalubong" ever, chocolates.

I'll have to give up something to be able to afford my chocolate addiction.

I'm not at all surprised. Everything is going up in price. Well except for SUV's, lol. I thought that Twix was part of the Hershey company. I just looked it up and it's by Mars. I didn't know this. Well, I hope they don't raise the price on them either because that would be sad, lol.

ugghhh... that is my concern too.. I love chocolates, I can live a day without eating one just as long as I know I have some in the fridge. Last time I bought one, there was an increase already. Chocolates here are imported from other country so they increased. Though small amount only, a cent is still a cent.

It doesn't surprise me at all. Everything is going up. It is costing more to ship things, so we get to pay for it. I am sure it all will go up.
