I've been reading the Batman Legends reprint series over the last year or so has had some great stories in it - War Games is pretty dark and epic, shows the consequences of the way Batman treats the people around him and the resaults of him not sharing his plans. A Death In A Family - the one where Jason Todd's famously killed by a readers phone vote and the Joker becomes a Iranian diplomat! and All-Star Batman And Robin - a retelling of how (name I can't write on mylot) Grayson became Robin by Frank Miller that's either a) paroding his own tough portrayal of Batman b)showing the events from the pov of a traumatised boy c)revealing how close Batman comes to crossing the line from hero to being the same as the villians or d)all three, are both pretty good. Also I've just bought the new book of The Killing Joke by Alan Moore/Brian Bolland - shows the Joker at possible his most sick and twisted yet pitiful, showing him desperetly trying to show that "one bad day" drove him insane, just like it would to anyone else and that his total insanity is a sane reaction to the sick joke of the real world plus giving a possible account of just how badly things went wrong for him to turn into this. oh and there's a song + a speil he gives to Batman that could easily fit in V fo Vendetta.
